Blew the squeeze and now the lead. I'm just shaking my head what a hole Everett is in our lineup.
Unga bungaed by the BBGs.

What the fuck are you talking about? Everett got the Astros back in the game with his two-run triple. Are you watching?

The post title is equally confounding.
"Ground ball right side, they're not gonna be able to turn two OR ARE THEY, THROW, IS IN TIME!!! WHAT AN UNBELIEVABLE TURN BY BRUNTLETT AND EVERETT, AND THEY CUT DOWN MABRY TO END THE GAME, AND THE ASTROS LEAD THIS NATIONAL LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES THREE GAMES TO ONE!!!!!"

I'm guessing there's a bunch of sarcasm here.

I'm just listening on the radio, but I doubt Everett could have done anything more than he tried when bunting at a pitch out.

Given that he literally THREW the bat at the pitch, no, he couldn't have.

If so, his timing sucks.

He threw his bat at it, not much else he could do.

The Cubs sniffed out the squeeze, Luke would have been caught in a rundown anyway--I thought it was a good idea to throw the bat to try to foul it off.  Didn't work, but nice try.

No kidding.

To Lidge, what DOES the organization do with Brad now?  Rotate him down to Qualls' role and move him and Wheeler to 8th and 9th?  Little help?  Looking for a new answer to my son's questions about what will they do.  "Brad will be fine, Ryan" is way past its half-life.

Lookin fo' nub!

Personally I think it goes as follows.  Wheeler in the 9th, Qualls in the 8th and Nieve in the 7th in the high yield innings, when the stros have a lead (like last night).  Lidge pitches in mop up duty when ahead by a lot or behind.  Think of it like the role springer plays right now.

Maybe Nieve closes but I think Wrecking ball gets that job, and qualls and nieve are set up man a and set up man b.  I could be wrong though, it's happened before.

The mention of Springer reminds me.  They played some kind of Wild West bit for him last night.  Are they going to start this for every reliever?

That was great.  I kept thinking of his love affair with Bonds every time I heard the gunshots.

that was bizzare, especially when they threw the wanted poster of So frickin' Taguchi up, followed by Springer heroically getting him to ground to the mound, then <cheesy gunshot sound> he throws out the mighty Taguchi.  i kinda felt bad for Russ there.

i'm so wondering what Wheeler's closer music will be.  any thoughts?

my favorite reliever music so far this year was for Phillip Barzilla (in one of his two appearances).  i about died when i heard the first few bars of "Godzilla" by Blue Oyster Cult.
