I'm hoping for the delicious irony of seeing the Astros in the playoffs and the Red Sox watching from the outside.  How many "trade Clemens to Boston so he can have one more postseason" wingnuts will raise their hands then?

I was afraid of this.  Buster Olney was all over their jocks this morning on the radio (Mike and Mike show).  He declared them "the most dangerous team that scares every NL post season contender, including the Mets".  Pitching, go figure, is the reason.

He even had the Reds GM on for a segment and got him to admit they're all afraid of the Astros.  Experience, credibility, pitching, defense and *NOW* timely hitting makes for the most dangerous team in the NL.

And I got really concerned.

I almost didn't recognize the ESPN.com home page...funny how when Clemens gets a W and the team scores some runs THAT'S not splashed on the front page.
How can you ask me a question like that?  Do you ask The Beatles that??

Oh. no you don't. If you think the Astros are winning because you're eating KFC, then the Astros are winning because you're eating KFC. Don't fuck with a streak.

KFC is especially good for Stros games on Tuesday.  There's a Tuesday 2 Piece special--a drumstick, a thigh, and a biscuit all for a mere $1.  It's on.

After what I heard this morning with Eric Sisilias (Sp?) and Buster Olney, I decided it's time for some serious sacrifice for the BBGs.  I'm doing some major lawnscaping tomorrow... heck, I may even build a fountain or birdbath to be safe.

Now is *NOT* the time to ease up on the offerings, now is the time to up the ante.  I hate you Buster Olney, I hate you so much!

I had the KFC bowl for lunch. Just picked up new blades, oil, and filters for the lawnmower, too. Tomorrow: welding a new flange on the air compresser tank, mowing, patching the driveway...

Tonight has to be sacrifices to the grill gods: aniversary dinner for the wife.

Another odd thing: I have started baking cookies, specifically peanutbutter cookies, over the last two weeks. My routine is getting hectic.

It's Erik Kuselias.  Thank goodness for my XM Radio display.  I had not idea what his last name was before then.

Man, I love peanut butter cookies.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

That's a sacrifice in and of itself.

Dis-GUST-ing.

Well, I went ahead and went to Lone Star when the workday ended at 11:30 AM.  Had several Amber Bocks and a steak.  Plus  for tomorrow, I have schedule mowing, bushhoging and weedeating my 3 acres and the 2 acres my parents just bought.  Seeing that is about an 6-8 hour job...hopefully, the BBG's will be appeased.

PS. Sorry for the spelling but I did my best to drink a 1/4 keg of Amber Bock today.

SI.com just named us the frontrunner to win the NL WildCard now.

Guess we'll be watching the playoffs from home.

For anyone who complains about Everett or Ausmus - consider this, under San Diego in the above article:

"Four third basemen have combined to produce a .580 OPS."

Similarly Randy Hendricks can bite my shiny ass,

``If Drayton would have said yes to a trade, (to Boston) it would have been some story," said Randy Hendricks, Clemens's agent. ``My only regret is that the whole plan was to get Roger on a mound healthy in October. Now, he will be healthy in October, but probably not on any mound." The Link

I thought the whole idea was to hang us out to dry for 7 months or so, create a constant media feeding frenzy, and get maximum money.

We're playing to make the playoffs and, from there, the World Series.  More than any free agent in history (since he signed in mid-season), Clemens knew the score with this team.  And he can still pitch in October.
