he has returned to hapless/hopeless after a long stretch early this summer in which he was driving the ball and not striking out. i cannot remember the last time i saw him hit the ball hard.
Often wrong, but never in doubt.

I was at the Hooks game last night at Frisco. Patton looked very ordinary. Struggled with command and everything was hit hard off of him.

Andeson impresses me as someone who may make it. He's hitting the ball harder than he was last year. Had 3 hits last night, 2 off a LHP. One was a shot over the RFers head for a double.

Pence did not have a big night although got credit for a triple on what was a routine fly ball to CF that was lost in sun. He did uncork a strong throw from in front of the warning track to make a play on batter going for a double. He beat the throw but it was impressive.

This team has really lost a lot of talent in the last few weeks.

# C J.R. Towles returned to the lineup on Thursday after missing three weeks with a sore knee and promptly went 4-5 with a triple, homer (#9) and three RBIs. He ended up playing in a total of 4 games during the week (all as a DH), batting .500 as he went 8-16.

McTaggert reports at least 10 days from being able to catch. The Link

# Recently-promoted LHP Jake Hurry made a successful SAL debut on Wednesday with one run allowed in 3 innings of relief. His next outing, a starting assignment on Saturday, wasn't quite as good (3.1 IP 5 H 3 R 2 ER 2 W 0 K).

This wasn't a typical start.  Granted he wasn't exactly shart in the first 3 innings but in the 4th, when his real problems began, the game was suspended due to rain.  So the elements may have been an issue.  When he was in Greeneville, he was a "battler" as a starter who often got out of jams.  I would not be suprised to see him in a left handed reliever postion as he develops.
Always ready to go to a game.
