Starting at high noon on Saturday, Taylor Buchholz gave the Astros 7 innings of shut out baseball. He had the Rangers weakly popping up off speed pitches and swinging through high fastballs. He had a no hitter through 4.2 and was never seriously challenged.
The offense finally broke through. When I say offense, I mean Mike Lamb. Ensberg doubled him in in the first, giving the Astros the important first inning lead. Then he blasted a huge homerun in the 3rd, a 2 run triple and scored himself in the 7th. In the 8th, Lamb made a bid for a second homerun to dead center. However Gary Matthews Jr. got his glove over the wall to make the Ranger highlight of the day. Wilson, Ensberg, and Lane provided the 2 add on runs in the 9th.
