Ok, I just need to change the title of this thread to Defense, Pitching, and Offense.

All horrible.

2 games in the same week where the opposing pitcher has 4 RBI???

Another stolen base against Ausmus? Garner may have to pull a Frank Robinson if every runner that reaches 1st can automatically take 2nd!

And I can't believe Bruntlett did not get an error on that throw.  That is NOT an infield hit, I don't care how fast Bynum is.

In the first, JD was saying how great Taylor looked and how he was going to do well tonight.
Oye. Vamos, vamos.

Bruntlett has developed a double hop, not a crow hop, not a double pump, it's something entirely new and disgusting.  He's not going to get many runners with that techique.

Well, maybe now we can stop listening to the talk shows and put the correct team back out there. Give me Lane in right, Willy in center and please Everett at short.

I believe Everett is hurt right now.

i heard some pretty negative stuff from a very good source about Willy this weekend. it explains why he is sitting and is both performance and attitude based.
Often wrong, but never in doubt.

Serious discussions with Bagwell about becoming a full-time coach would do this team some good.
I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

On that note, does anyone know if he is doing anything with the team this year?  I haven't seen him on the bench once in 2006, but Backe has been on the bench and even traveling with the team while he has been on the DL.  The Chronicle mentioned Bagwell was at MMP yesterday, and just mentioning he showed up at the park makes it seem as if he is rarely with the team.

I seem to remember one of the announcers saying that he stops by about once a week during homestands. I don't recall when I heard that, but it was probably in the last few weeks.

As of yesterday, Ausmus is 4 and 25.  Could be worse, he could be Michael Barrett who's 11 for 46 with 6 passed balls already.  Ausmus hasn't thrown a ton out, but it's not like they've been running wild against him either.  It's not just the catcher who controls the running game either.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Exactly right, the 25 is more significant than the 4.

All true.  I still want Brad behind the dish, PARTICULARLY with all these rookies. Or when Lidge is bouncing his slider. My post was more a knee-jerk reaction to the 3 stolen bases in such rapid succession and the ball to the backstop (was ruled a WP, not a PB). I agree that the pitcher has to keep his baserunners in check and that it must be awfully difficult to catch a pitch that is way off its intended target and make an accurate throw in time to nail the runner.
