Stuck in a meeting posting on my blackberry; did I hear right?  Gallo was used and lost the game????
Another trenchant comment by a jealous lesser intellect.

Yes. Watching a man douse himself with gasoline and then light a cigarette is no fun.  I imagine it's not fun for the guy dousing himself with gasoline either.

Ugh.

Only other pitcher available was Lidge.

Lidge would've had to come in and clean up Gallo's mess and then hope like hell the Astros scored in their half of the next inning and then get the Co-ards out the next inning.  If the Astros didn't score, then Lidge would've had to go however many innings Garner needed out of him.

Gallo, quick and painless (relatively speaking) death.  Lidge, perhaps a chance of a quick road to glory or a slow painful death plus wearing out a good pitcher.  Looks to me the solution is bigger than the game situation.  The solution is to get rid of having Gallo as an option from now on.

How about "Piece of fucking shit".   I know it does not work out with his name but it is what it is.

Imagine how bad things might be if Gallo didn't trust his stuff!
