Major meltdown by Wagner
« on: May 20, 2006, 05:05:22 pm »
Billy enters with a 4-0 lead in the 9th.  After giving up 2 singles, 3 walks, and a HBP, it's a tie game.
"Ground ball right side, they're not gonna be able to turn two OR ARE THEY, THROW, IS IN TIME!!! WHAT AN UNBELIEVABLE TURN BY BRUNTLETT AND EVERETT, AND THEY CUT DOWN MABRY TO END THE GAME, AND THE ASTROS LEAD THIS NATIONAL LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES THREE GAMES TO ONE!!!!!"

In other news, 57% of those responding prefer Damon's old look to his current look.  Oh, and the mock-up of Tim McCarver with long hair and a beard was FANTASTIC.  I heart Fox.

McCarver on Wagner "It could take him 2 weeks to recover from this."  2 weeks exactly? I say 11 days. But, a little NyQuil and he wont remember a thing.

The number of absolutely MORONIC comments made by McCarver during this game is astronomical.  I loved the bit about Julio Franco not wanting to be on his show.

Hahahaha.  I think I've spent a total of 5 minutes looking at MLB.com boards in my life, and the majority of that time was during the WS ticket lotteries.

he must have been tipping his pitches.
Often wrong, but never in doubt.

Nope.  Just didn't trust his stuff.

Maybe he should throw sidearm.  Or go back to being right handed.

no, no, no.  He needs to start throwing his 2nd pitch.  Slider or changeup, which was it?
Another trenchant comment by a jealous lesser intellect.

Kinda related to this- McCarver is awful.  I was watching and cheering the meltdown and he gave up a single on a slider- McCarver says the knock on billy has always been that he throws his slider too much...
