We're ("we" used correctly) are very fortunate.

As I was watching Nieve struggle with his command a bit but pitch well on velocity and guile last night, I thought about the young talent that has come through the farm system over the last 10 years, including the current crop.  I can't think of another organization that has the same track record of continued excellence.  Some stay, some go, some flame out but the organization has produced high numbers of quality pitchers that actually succeed for a very long time.  They are the anti-Cubs.

Man Nieve had some nasty stuff last night.  Too bad he couldn't locate it well.  Hopefully he can keep throwing like that with location.

what are you talking about das?  the astro farm system sucks, and they haven't spit out a good pitching prospect in years.  just ask baseball prospectus.  have you even bothered to CHECK the age-relative-to-league stats of astro minor league pitchers?  sheesh, do your research next time.

Heh, can't say that I have ever even visited that site.  What I do know is that the OWA minor league reporting guys (thanks Greg D., Jacksonian, Nash from days gone by, etc...) have a long history of spotting and reporting on talent long before they make it to the show.  Astros scouting and OWA Minor Opinions gang make a fabulous combination of knowlege, insight and entertainment for our little corner of fandom.

And Agent Smith, although I haven't seen him around for awhile.
