Ugh.. 54 with heavy rain.  I can't think of a more miserable environment in which to play and it'll probably drop a few degrees by game time.

I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

San Fran games always worry me because of Oswalt.  But Backe and cold probably isn't a good mix either.

It might be raining cats and dogs but at least you know you're safe from giant chunks of concrete.

If it's rained out tonight, have Backe pitch the day game tomorrow, Buchholz pitch the nightcap and Oswalt can go in the next series.

I'm guessing the unplayed game would be made up here on their return visit.

Please don't talk about this game getting rained out. It's depressing.

The less we have to play on the field in the crappy state it is in, the better.  I don't want to see any of the Astros pulling a Chipper on that field!

Shit.  Rained out again.   No better link than yesterday, but Astros.com says:
"Next Game:  Thu., April 13 @ 2:35 p.m. CT "

Don't kill yourself yet; at least there is something to listen to.  Two weeks ago your choices were NBA or that stupid National Hockey League.

Why Wrigley?  I'll readily concede that scrub fan is annoying, but I find Wrigley to be fun stadium to watch a game.

Berkman's opinion:

Quote:

I'll probably get scalded for saying this, since people like Wrigley because it's nostalgic, but if they blew that place up it wouldn't bother me at all. People think it's a good hitter's park but it really isn't, because they keep the grass about knee-high in the infield and when the wind blows in you can't see. And the temperature's never comfortable -- it's either freezing cold or sweltering hot. It's just a tough place to play.

Winning the 2 seed in hockey is like being the 95th most interesting team in the country (Not counting college and I don't know whether to rank AFL higher or lower).
