Vince Young had a good throw on his ceremonial pitch.  It's just too bad he's not left-handed, or we might have found ourselves a new reliever.

I decided a long time ago that if I ever get an opportunity to throw out a first pitch (hey, you never know--I could get rescued after falling down a well or something), it's going to be a knuckleball.  It just has to be.

Please let us know if and when that day ever comes.

"Ladies and gentlemen, please give a warm welcome to Mr. Frobie who will throw out the first pitch after surviving the terrible well accident.  Here is the windup....and the first pitch is a striii...what the hell...the ball is rolling toward the visitors dugout...the batboy runs over and picks it up... please give the batboy a round of applause".

reminds me of the story about Ryne Duren who was so wild in the minor leagues that he once hit a batter in the on deck circle.
Often wrong, but never in doubt.

In the book "Pen Men" teammates and coaches of Duren, with the coke bottle thick glasses, would insist that he throw the ball to the backstop during warmups. No digging in on that dude.

There are some good prospects on that Marlin team.  I don't know much about their pitching, but I remember Mitre being considered a good prospect for the Cubs before he got traded to Florida.

I tried to watch a Netflix (A History of Violence) after the 6th inning. Put in the disc, got through the previews, watched the first ten minutes, and then the disc screwed up. It was unreadable right as I started getting interested.

The BBGs must have been angry with my singing praises of Monday's win, because they fucked up my movie, too.

You should thank your DVD player for saving you. That movie sucked with a capital Cubs.

Agreed. That movie was so boring and pointless, it took me three tries to get through the final 45 minutes.

Thanks for the warning. I used to like Cronenberg's films. I might still force myself to watch it. On a similar note, "Domino" was pretty much the worse film I've tried to watch since that awful remake of "Rollerball."
