Beautiful overtime. Big Baby's three was the deal.

Horns didn't help themselves in OT with turnovers and crappy shots.  One team came to play out of regulation, one didn't.  Congrats.

However, I'm hoping LSU loses as soon as possible, if only because "Big Baby" is possibly one of the worst nicknames ever.

Can you imagine the guy in high school as a 360 lb. running back, which he was?

I read this a year or so ago, which was mostly only interesting for the team names:

The Link

The first Houston team listed was the Houston Babies.  My favorite was the Wichita Falls Spudders.

Agreed- absolutely hate the nickname.  Might not be the nickname so much as the grown men sounding idiotic talking about said nickname that bothers me.

Congrats to the tigers, they did what they needed to do to win the ball game.  Good luck to them, they look to be the most athletic team left.  Should be a low scoring war with UCLA.

How bizarre was his postgame interview on CBS?  He kept referring to LSU having tapeworms inside their stomachs, meaning they had to keep eating up other teams.  Definitely the strangest sports metaphor I've ever heard.

Good game.  It's a shame the OT didn't live up to regulation.  Had UT won, that crazy sequence leading up to Gibson's trey would have gone down in Tournament history.

Not as bizarre as his 3-point attempt with 10 seconds left.

I couldn't believe it when he launched that, I figured texas was going to get the ball back.  However, he missed it so dang bad that texas couldn't pull the board- which happens sometimes.

He did, however, hit a 3 pointer in overtime to pretty much break the game open, but it was a set, open shot, not a bizare fadeaway with a defender all over him.

And right after a timeout.  After that, his comments about tapeworms wasn't all that surprising.

Further proof perhaps Brady is not a great game day coach/tactician- which seems to be the consensus on many boards I've seen.

I love barnes, wouldn't trade him for but a handful of coaches in the NCAA, but I don't think game day tactics are his strong suit either.

No way Brady called that play.  But then again, I know nothing about Brady or LSU basketball, other than the fact that they are young, athletic, block every single shot, and are really fun to watch.

Hard to be upset about 30 wins and the Elite Eight.

Congrats to LSU. What a weird Final Four. I'd be happy with anyone but Florida winning.

Congrats to the Tigers, and I hope they take it all the way. "Big Baby" is pretty damn bad, but it's made 100x worse by Enberg's insistence on using it exclusively. Maybe they could arrange some sort of deal where Bilas can still use the nickname for color commentary, but for the PBP they could try something exotic, like... I dunno... "Davis"?

I actually agreed with the play.  They took a calculated risk that UT, with a foul to give, would use it on the inbound play, and gave the instruction to shoot as soon as you have the ball.

Doesn't sound very calculated to me.

How so?  It's a pretty common play when you have a foul to give.

Tie game, 10 seconds left, Sweet Sixteen.  Rather than setting up a play to get off a good shot, they draft a play that, at best, results in three free throws and, at worst, gives Texas the ball with 8 seconds left?  And the best case scenario occurs only if they *guess* correctly that Texas will foul.

I think best case scenario would be to make the shot.  LSU is also a pretty good offensive rebounding team, so it wasn't a lock that UT would get the ball with 8 seconds left.

Oh, right.  Best case scenario is that "Big Baby" hits a turnaround, fade away three pointer in the defendender's eye.  Dunno, something tells me that play wasn't executed the way it was drawn up.

Then criticize the execusion, not the playcalling.

I'm not criticising the playcalling at all.  I assumed from the beginning that it wasn't executed the way it was drawn up.
