Wilson? Burnitz?

According to the Chronicle, the Astros have made offers to them.  I wonder how one of them would fit in if Bagwell can play.

interesting.. but the best part is the fact pitchers and caters report in a little over 7 weeks...hope this is not another fall through rumor both players would be nice to have on the team. I noticed Clemens even in his no decision making right now is managing to keep his name in the spotlight.

I think Burnitz signed with the O's, with a physical required before it's officially announced.

That's ironic, though. The one decent player that Purp could have signed last January, he now wants this January and he goes to 2nd division Baltimore.

Still waiting for "something exciting..."

Would Burnitz or Wilson be "something exciting"?

According to the Chronicle, the Burnitz-to-Orioles thing isn't done, but then that's the Chronicle.  Last year I can see why he didn't want Burnitz, since he thought he had Lane and Berkman at the corner outfield positions.  Turned out to be a bad assumption, but still.

I'm guessing Taveras will be the odd man out and will be shopped for pitching ala the rumored Taveras for Contreras trade with the ChiSox.
Oh God, I wish I was a loofah!

Man, that's a really bad deal for Houston.

According to idle speculation in the Chronicle, maybe center (see NYCU).  Last season he tried to play the corners in Washington, however:

"... Wilson -- who says he is learning the angles in left -- misplayed a ball along the foul line in the second inning.

"I would prefer to be in center, definitely," Wilson said. . . ."

I like this move if it goes down.   I think it allows for a lot of flexibility offensively, and adding a bat like this to possibly bat 5th/6th really upgrades this offense from average(maybe slightly above average) to definite above average status barring good health.

Also, it would open up more than a few trade possibilities depending on what they see out of Bagwell in spring training.

May not be a great scoop, but it appears that Burnitz has made other arrangements that do not include the Astros.
