Manny Ramirez to become an Astro?
« on: November 07, 2005, 02:37:30 pm »
Or so one deluded fan asked Footer. You can almost hear her calling the emailer a moron in her response.

These mailbag questions rarely give me any new insights (due to no fault of her own), but it sure can be funny to read how Footer responds with almost a "You're kidding, right?" kind of quality.
phew. for a minute there, I lost myself

it's obviously a borderline retarded idea, even more impossible.  One time I thought about it, and it didn't sound all that bad.  IF bagwell can't play in the field next year, he could be packaged with a few of our prospects.  Bagwell could DH, and I wouldn't be as sad to see him go if he played for the team he grew up loving.  Manny would mash in MMPUS.  Again, it won't happen, and even this post may qualify me as borderline retarded.

One "hypothetical" that concerned me, and probably any other pro-Dunn person in here, was that ESPN mentioned in a "mock gm" episode that the Sox would likely go after Dunn if they lose Manny.  Hometown discount or not...there is no way we could afford to sign him if he put up big numbers in a huge market next year before his FA year
