Bart Giamatti's famous quote on baseball.

"It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone."
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

Most fulfilling season I've experienced by far.  I am sorry to see that it is over, but on the other hand, I'll welcome the short break until spring training.

Hats off to the Sox.  We had many chances to get into the series, but they executed when it counted.  Our guys played with heart and made every game of the WS close and interesting.  It would have been heartbreaking if they would have been blownout.  But they weren't.  History will show a four game sweep, but it was so much better than that score indicates.  A very fulfilling season indeed.
