that Hunsicker could really enjoy this as the GM.  He worked so hard for so many years, and he basically put this team together.  Thanks Hun.

I thought about the Hun during the trophy presentation. The Wallet, Tal, The Count and Scraps. Someone was missing.

I agree.  If Hun was here, most likely trades would have occured.  Maybe the end result would have been the same, but there is no way of knowing that.  This is the Counts team.  The guy caught alot of grief and stuck to his guns.  He looks like a freakin genius now.

Well, okay. My point is that the Hun built MOST of this team over the years. Bringing Andy and Roger back home, etc.

Gerry didn't stay for the duration, but he was a big part of the Astros success.

Hey I will give the Hun alot of credit for some of his trades, but the Pettitte signing was Andy wanting to come home and pitch, and the Astros being competitive enough to make it worth it to pass on the Yankee money.  Roger came to Houston because Andy came to Houston and the special perks they afforded him...  Hun had very little to do with it compared to a typical FA signing.

And I figure he left cause he couldn't get along with the owner.  So perhaps maybe the owner was right and the Hun was wrong, now the Hun has to deal with egg on his face.

I am happy with the Purp so far, and say to the Hun, "Hope you're happy, I know we are!"
