Ok, I'm Over It.
« on: October 18, 2005, 05:39:28 pm »
Don't know what happened.  Could be that I haven't had lunch, but I'm passed last night.

I'm over the gut-wrenching loss, the feeling of doom, the loss of confidence.

I'm really glad now there was a day in between.

Now we can go in to StL tomorrow and get back to winning.

Roy and Rocket.  No way it ends here.

Roy is the perfect person for Game 6. he will flat get after their asses. i have to admire StL. they play hard and do not quit. their 9th inning rally was a miracle, but it happened because they believed that it could.

go get 'em.

I agree.  I got nothin' against the Co-ards (except that ridiculous banner).  But now it's time to kick their asses.  And I wish they were playing tonight.
blah, blah, blah . . .

There is absolutely no mlb pitcher I would rather have pitching tommorrow under these circumstances than roy oswalt.  After a rough night last night, I woke up feeling pretty good...if the series goes to thursday though it will be unbearable.

Yeah, I'm sure Roy is wandering around today muttering about how tomorrow isn't even the biggest game of his career, but he'll win it anyway.  You know, for fun.

I'll be honest, it wasn't the pitching I was concerned with.  It's the bats.

I just hope we don't fall into a deep deep slumber against Mulder.

For your sake, I pray to God (not the BBG's, but the Creator) that the Astros get this done.
Lighten up, Francis.

The main thought that gave me a good feeling was thinking about last year how the ATL tied the NLDS here and the Astros had to go back there for all the marbles.  I can remember many people with their woe-is-us attitude and all the crap about choking, etc.  The same that is happening now with lots of "fans" and media.

That game was tight at first, but then became a laugher, ending, of course, with the 'Stros celebrating their first ever postseason series victory albeit on foriegn soil.

Here's to the Wizard, and if need be, the Rocket to repeat the feat, only leading the team to the next level.
News that is sufficiently bad somehow carries its own guarantee of truth.  Only good reports need confirmation.

You have no idea.

I have to pass the CPA exam next week (part 4 of 4) or I won't have my license until February.

My family needs to eat.  I don't even care if we LOSE the WS; I mean that seriously.  But up 3-1 with one strike?  No.  Must win the NL.

I'va had a headache all day along with a hollow feeling in my chest.  Of course, that could be the result of being forced to drink Bud products at the game last night.

Why do they put only one Shiner stand on the whole field box level so that it takes three innings to get a fucking decent drink?

After barely being able to see straight last night, I woke up this morning in peace.

This series will end Wednesday night.

I felt the same as you last night and hoped for the same as you this morning.

Didn't happen.

But I do feel better now.

It was one game.  We needed one of three.  Now we need one of two.  It was no different with the Cubs.  We'll take it.

I've had the same experience as you.  Bad day, skipped lunch, but around 3:00 pm began thinking, "we're in Game 6 of the NLCS, we're one win away from the World Series, this is fun."  We'll be okay.

You know what pisses me off the most right now about playing Game Six?

I just found out Fox now makes money on this series.  Fuck.

But hey...the last game at Busch will be remembered as a loss to the Astros as they party like it's 1999!

Which always draws me to ask..Did we party in 1999 like it was 1999?

I remember 1999 quite well.  Partied quite a bit.  However, I remember that partying in 1999 was ODDLY like partying in 1983, which was the style of the time.

The sex was better though.

I did.  I was fucked up on Bourbon Street as the clock ticked from 1999 to 2000.

FTR, I was aware that the new millennium didn't start until a year later.

That was partying in 2000 like it was 1998, though.

At the stroke of 2000 I was on top of the State Theater in Austin, puking my shoes up on $4 champagne.  I could tell it was going to be a great millenium.

And yes, 2000 started the millenium.  See how it has "20XX"?  Don't agree with me?  That's because you're an asshole.  Go move back in with your mother if you think 2000 was the last millenium.

All Game 5 did was make us mad.  That's not a bad thing.

The disturbing part about this comment is that you were 7.

Well, the only reason I spoke up is because I was having my best sex at that age.

Astros, fans, media, heck even freaking FOX (and if he can be believed, Tony LaRussa too) were convinced it was over. OVER.

Someone forgot to tell Eckstein, Edmonds and especially Pujols.  It was, in many ways, justified thhat they lost like they did.  27 outs, not 26... and *THEN* celebrate.

*sheesh*
