Game Watching Plans

Does anyone, in Houston, have plans where they are watching games 1 and 2 yet?

Griff's. It worked for Game 1 of the DS.

I was there when Lidge had the blown save against the cubs trying to clinch the WC.   I will refrain from returning for the rest of the playoffs.

If anyone is interested, some friends and I are going to be at BW3's at Westchase.  The more Astros fans the better.

I will also be at Griff's.  Something bizarre always happens there--I don't know what it means to have a gang of middle-aged, evening gown-clad women come roller skating into the bar, but it must be good luck.

Griff's is on Roseland, which is just to the east of Montrose.  The address is 3416 Roseland.  Here's the Link:

My one and only Griffs experience was in the Fall of '98.  We paid for all you can eat/drink plus bus ride and ticket to the Astros/Cardinals game.  It was the night the Big Unit was pitching and Ronald was approaching Maris' record.

I remember thinking that I really needed to drink more just to make sure I "get my money's worth."

The bus ride to and from the dome was very...how do I say it...rough.  Bounced up and down more than a tricked out car on Pimp My Ride and the smell of diesel fumes wafted your nose no matter how fast or slow they were going.

We stuff my wife's purse with like 8 beers to smuggle them in.

I don't recall too much of the game.  We spent most of it at Lefty's.  When we get back to Griffs, our ride hooks up with a chick and leaves us.  We have to catch a ride back with one of his friends who we didn't know.  Too drunk to function, much less drive, we crash at his house.  But he is locked out of his apt. by his room mate.  I'm reaching critical mass and have to visit the bushes out back.

I know, T.M.I.  But great times nonetheless.

Remind me to tell you the story about my girlfriend (now my wife) dumping me at Griff's for one of the Dome Patrol guys.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

My plans?

Much fidgeting and pacing, interrupted by random muttered profanities and the odd bout of dry heaves...
When the Clark is dead, Spack will eat his spleen. Before he dies, Spack will put his posts under the knife so the Clark will see his threads wiped out forever...

FOX tv tonight as I travel out of town for work.  Lucky me, I'm in an A.L. town but they chose the N.L. matchup instead.

Two small packs of oreo cookies stored away on top of the 'fridge and a nice cold milk (2% milk fat) inside the same.

And all the while I will pace the small hotel suite and wear a path to the bathroom.  Gosh, I love playoff baseball!  I love Astros playoff baseball!

Go 'Stros!

I ended up leaving work early, but stopped to restock whiskey and picked up some fajita meat.

Deep fried some corn tortillas...

Grilled the meat...

(They just showed the Bluebonnet moment on Fox)

Cooked up some beans...

Some of the best dern TexMex nachoes I have ever had....since the last time I did this.

I am ready for the game.

Not help. I'm thinking more that he needs a 3-letter word that starts with "s" and ends with "ex."

Normally, I wouldn't make a response to that. However, I have to defend the wife's honor. I get plenty....

I still have a dirty mind...
