Granato, who is on location in atl, says that it is raining right now. He's conceding the game does not happen tonight, for what its worth.

I thought this was mentioned before someplace but now I can't find it...

What happens if they can't play tonight OR tomorrow?  Would the Saturday and Sunday games get pushed into next week?

Just tryin' to do a little planning.

I asked this yesterday and no one seems to know (or can be bothered to reply).  My guess is that they hold over to Saturday in ATL and play two on Sunday in Houston.

I would be majorly pissed off if the Astros have their rotation buggered by the weather.

Wunderground says 93% chance of t-storms in the 5-day forecast up top, then down below it says "slight" chance of t-storms.  Nice fuzzy math.

Yeah, there's NO way.  That would be an obvious home field advantage for the WC, and there's no fucking way Bobby COPS lets that happen without a lot of complaining.

Best snapshot tool ever for hourly forecasts.  Model data is constantly dumping in and it updates every hour so refresh often.  The graphs are pretty much self-explanatory.

Radar trends look pretty grim.  Atlanta is about to enter the dry slot but the southern quadrants of the storm will fill in later as the storm spins down and daytime heating takes hold.

Exactly.

I'm no weather expert, but as I've alluded to before, the field at The Ted drains really well.  It looks to me that the field is going to have a nice break from the rain for a couple hours so that should bode well for any showers that may hit later this afternoon before the game and on up to game time.  Again, I'm no weather expert, but my money's on the game getting played tonight.  Rain is supposed to continue through late Saturday, maybe longer.  The field's turf is only going to continue to get worse...and they can't wait till Saturday or Sunday to play this game IMO.  So I'm guessing the game will get played as long as the showers are light, like they look to be...and somewhat scattered, even if that means short breaks without light rain (ie. 30 minutes at a time).

My office is about 10 miles NW of the stadium and I haven't had rain for over an hour.  I would guess the stadium might have gotten a little during that span based on your radar link Das, but it should be clear now and for the forseeable future.  Here's to getting the game in....I'm planning on leaving at 6-6:30pm ET, no matter if it's raining or not.  An official postponement will be the only thing that keeps me away from the stadium tonight.

Spotty drizzle and maybe a passing shower thru midnight.  I think my friends at the NWS have the 100% trending to 90% POPs tonight way overdone.  Models say another 0.6"-0.7" of precip by midnight but I think 0.02"-0.04" is more likely.  Tomorrow will be a different story as the robust cold front careens through around noon.  Good thing it's an off day.  If I was a betting man, I say we get the game in tonight.  It'll be raw (66?F) with a stiff NE wind so I hope Scrap Iron throws Backe tonight.  Bring a towel to wipe the seats and a blanket to keep the drizzle off.

...and, bring an umbrella.  Clemens or Backe will need to work quick.  Next batch of significant rains (vorticity lobe from TD Tammy) are forming now in SE Georgia and extrapolation has them on the doorstep of the Ted in ~6 hours.
