Eh, never mind...

On some dark and stormy night, when the lighting is crashing, the wind is howling, and the rain is coming down like sheets of lead; some 8 foot tall maniac is tapping the back of your favorite head against the bar room wall and he looks you crooked in the eye and asks you, ?have you paid your dues??  You just stare right back at that sucker and you tell ?em,  ?yes sir, the check is in the mail.?

Some games make you want to kick a camera.  It?s just as irritating watching an opponent that is inept as watching the Astros when they?re inept.

The Astros got a couple runs in the second when the Reds shortstop, whoever, some guy being touted as an All Star who can hit but forgets to cover second, allows Ensberg to reach second on a bloop to right by Everett.  Ensberg should've been dead.  With bases loaded and one out, Chavez contributes by not hitting the ball on the ground and flies out to short left.   Backe then doubles home Moberg and Maximus.  2-0 Astros.

Backe waited 5 days to atone for his last start.  Then he had to wait 2 hours to start the game, then Garner had seen enough ? 6 walks ?  in  3.2 innings and couldn?t wait  to bring in control artist Chad Harville, because he couldn?t wait to see what a strike looked like.   Taking into account all the walks, Backe managed to walk in a run, and a single, the Reds tied it, both runs charged to Backe.

Harville went 2.1 innings and did well, his pitches were moving and home plate ump Fieldin Culbreth gave him the corners.   Meanwhile, the Astros were again mystified by a left hander, in this case, the pet fish Eric.

In their infinite and merciful wisdom the BBGs have decided this game was crap and it?ll be started over. Called after the 7th.  It's a rain out.  All the stats count, but the game will be started over from the first inning on Saturday.  Twi-night double header,  first game starts at 4:00.  Lord knows who the Astros will start.
