The Toadies
« on: May 18, 2019, 11:03:07 am »
Way off topic here, but I saw The Toadies last night for probably the 15th time, and they are still just as face melting like awesome as they were the first time I saw them in high school in the mid 90's. They're still making new music, and their sound has not changed much at all.

If you were ever a fan, I highly recommend catching them the next time they come through.

For proof, if you're a Spotify user, here's a link to a live show they did at Billy Bob's and made an album from in 2018: https://open.spotify.com/album/6sUKSfuumpZ2GIv1uxuTKG?si=PCkmoqSBQMKx_lVb--n-aw

Thanks for the tip. Always liked ‘em. Burlington (VT) seems like the kind of place they’d hit up. I’ll have to keep an eye out.

The rest are pretending, they put on a show

Every time I fished that lake I could not help but sing that song in my head, repeatedly.

They are indeed a great band to see live.
You may ask yourself, "How do I work this?"

Every time I see action on this topic I think it's about Barr and Kavanaugh.

That is a great lake.

I saw them open for Stone Temple Pilots around 2000. Auditorium shores... also Big Head Todd and the Monsters. It was a good show. Almost 20 fucking years ago.

Yup. Daughter is going to see Death Cab for Cutie there next month. It’s amazing the decent acoustics they’ve been able to generate in the warehouse setting. Sound engineers FTW.

Ha, no. Wrong Burlington. I think that’s over in New Jersey.

Agree. Sound systems have really evolved over the years. It's incredible. And so much less physically obtrusive too.
