A liner at Turner...whodathunkit
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Damn, that’s a factoid I didn’t know. Is she an LSU grad also?

Don’t hold me to this, but I remember hearing that it was something of a modern underdog love story: he slid into her DMs and won her heart despite relative sports anonymity and her negative perception about DMs created by the many, many undeserving men who futilely attempted the same move before Joe.

Time for Osuna to prove his worth.
I remember all the good times me 'n Miller enjoyed
Up and down the M1 in some luminous yo-yo toy
But the future has to change - and to change I've got to destroy
Oh look out Lennon here I come - land ahoy-hoy-hoy

If they retire the first three batters they don't have to face Soto.

Well, boys, here's the good news. Game Five means Trumpy will make an appearance.

And, more notably, me and my 7 year old.

Charles? That's not the one that always tries to hotfoot it out of there, is it? You'd want to take one of the more controllable ones if it's the World Series is what I would have thought.

I don’t know if this or something like it was already mentioned in this thread, as I was fortunate enough to get to watch with my dad tonight—who is visiting for the weekend—and so did not have to constantly retreat here for succor, but tonight really reminded me of how hard it can be to lose when you’ve been on a winning streak—by which I mean that you kind of have to make yourself do it, because opportunities keep befalling you, and that after you’ve gotten over that hump, and lose, why you often lose a couple more right quick.

What an outstanding job by the run-suppressing machine, tonight, and what an interminably-paced thing the first six innings were.

Happy birthday, Juan!

Somewhere inside Alex Bregman is a primal force begging to be unleashed. Let us hope it happens soon.

I appreciate the fact that he's a very technical sort of player. I've always been struck by his saying that he worries about where the knob of the bat is during his swing, and if the knob is where it needs to be, he knows his swing will be good.

But I do find myself wishing he had a little bit more of Altuve in him, see the ball, hit the ball, maybe not two feet off the plate, but swing at it without thinking too much.

He overthinks things, I believe.

Bregman fizzled in the bases loaded AB, but he also tomahawked a ball right at an outfielder and lined out to Turner (the nice leaping grab).

Another flyball was fairly well hit.

Let's hope he keeps hitting the ball hard and has some land on the outfield grass. Preferably with runners on.

The slumbering Bregman farts, murmurs, and rolls over.

Will he wake up tonight? We can only hope.

Posing after his home run in Game 2 took a lot out of him. He's saving his energy for his next pose.

Last night's win gets the Astros to Cole in Game 5 which theoretically gets them back to Houston. Of course, theoretically the Astros should be up 2-1 since the offense put up 4 runs against Scherzer.

He is getting there.  He was hitting the ball hard to the wrong places last night*.

* Is it just me, or have the Astros got this far despite, not because, they're hitting them where they ain't?  It just seems that there have been hard hit balls straight at people for totally undeserved outs, and it's been going on the whole post-season.  Perhaps last night was the first time in a while that (a) we found some gaps with bloops and bleeders, (ii) bounced some hits off fielders, rather than have them gobbled up for outs; (3) had some shots down the line fall just fair instead of just foul and (IV) had more than one hit in a row.

The HP ump still tried to shoo this one Washington's way with some extra strikes (with an assist from the 3B ump at one point) but, with so many LOBsters over the last few nights, it had only to be a matter of time before the Astros delivered the second hit that scored some runners.  I hope the evening out of the luck continues tonight as, with this dead ball, we can't rely on homers to bail us out.

It took a few innings for Washington to blow it open. After the awesomeness of his pose, Bregman went 0-3, left a couple on and made the error that was to a some degree responsible for the blow out.
