Miley

...he's at it again.  He's got to be tipping his pitches.  I find it hard to believe they are just sitting on his cutter.
Another trenchant comment by a jealous lesser intellect.

He's got the first inning blues something fierce recently.  I can't explain it.

Miley is a wreck. He’s out after getting three outs. I feel bad for him, but they absolutely cannot let him pitch in the postseason.

Greinke didn't inspire a lot of confidence last night either.

Nonetheless, he has to one of the guys. I would not include Miley on the postseason roster.

Tucker with a 2-run double, off the wall, Tucker to 3B on a TE6...but....some idiots reached over and touched the ball, so they’ll send Tucker back to 2B and take a run off the board and send Correa back to 3B.

Standing up, sticking your hands out is one thing.  Natural tendency.   Wrong,  but natural.

Bending at the waist over the railing and reaching down is pure hysteria.

The Yordan shot was oppo taco just inside the fair pole and bounced off the tip top of the railroad track wall.

The Gurriel hpb was bush league garbage.   Budgirl may need to rethink things.

Bregman walks,  Yordan fouls off several pitches (strike one should have been driven to Mars) then grounds softly to second.

2nd baseman dives snags it and flips it to the bag all in one motion to start the 4-6-3.

Tip of the cap.

3 straight 2 out hits get a run in for the Angels.

First was a shift fuck single.  Second was a nice inside out to right.

Third was a smash double in the LF cornet by pooholes.

Tucker chops one to 1st, runners to 2nd/3rd.

Machete grounds out  to 3rd, Yuli doesn't try to score.

2 outs.

Up to Straw. He flies out to center.

All this was against Jewell (not the singer); Sandoval was on a pitch limit.

Urquidy out.

Overall good job. In the second the got 3 consecutive pop ups.  The first one landed after knicking the glove of Altuve allowing the 4th run to score.

Needed to finish the 4th better.  He fell behind Simmons and Pujols and they both took advantage.

He needed to not have to come in the game trailing by three runs, two on, nobody out, and have to go three innings.

The Bard takes the mound for the Angels.

PBP for this inning will not be in iambic pentameter.

Springer lifts one to center  “And so I shall catch the fly”
Altuve looks at strike 3, unhappy he turns to hpu "O hateful error"
Bregman flies out “And have is have, however men do catch.”

Yordan may need a day off, somebody has to DH

A day off from what?

Abreu walks Hermosillo, who then steals second.

Cowart Ks swinging
Fletcher Flies out to right
Simmons bloops one to center Straw's throw home is not close and Simmons gets to 2nd.

Score is 6-3

Pujols walks.
Calhoun out 3-1; nice stop by Yuli

Trotting around the bases every ten at bats or so will really take it out of you.

Plus, with these expanded rosters there's more people than ever you have to high five.

They need a day off from playing baseball.  Unless Alvarez is worn out from picking splinters out of his ass, he needs to be in the lineup.

Alvarez Ks swinging “And what a pitch … !”
Gurriel 6-3 “And when he caught it, he let it go again.”
Correa Ks swinging “O my offense is rank, it smells to heaven.”

Garcia (not Jerry) in to pitch

Tucker hits a sky high foul pop up that bounces off the catcher's glove, eventually legs out a double to left center
Stubbs walks,  ball 4 is a wp, Tucker to 3rd
Toro hits for Straw, hits a SAC F9, Tucker scores
Springer Ks swinging
Pitching change: Buttrey
Altuve reaches on an infield hit,  Stubbs cut down easily at third.  Thought the ball got through the infield. It didn't.

6-4 Angels

I think so. Tucker isn’t uncoordinated, he’s just tall and lanky. He’s built like Ted Williams and Joe DiMaggio, and both of them could run too. It’s just awkward to see nowadays.

For me, I just couldn't trust Miley. I know that’s harsh, but it’s not that he’s had a rough outing or two. He’s been shockingly horrible for his last six or so starts. Like, having no business in the big leagues horrible. I don’t know what happened, and I feel for the guy because until August he’d been having a good year. But it’s the postseason...hard decisions have to be made.

Up and down the M1 in some luminous yo-yo toy
But the future has to change - and to change I've got to destroy
Oh look out Lennon here I come - land ahoy-hoy-hoy

Perhaps it's naive, but I have confidence in Urquidy. He just seems bulldog tough.

Much moreso than Valdez.  He just can't throw  strikes with regularity, but when he does, damn is he good.
You may ask yourself, "How do I work this?"

I think in a 5 game series Miley is on the roster along with Urquidy. Miley starts with a short leash. Sometimes when you have a “new season” (post-season) it can be a mental reset.

Would Hinch and the Nerd Cave think about an opener for Miley?  Rondon?  Devo?

Ugh.
Often wrong, but never in doubt.

Remember Robson’s opener?

I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.

Gotta be Urquidy or Valdez.

I may trust Valdez less than Miley.

Me too. Miley at least has some skins on the wall.

Might be choosing between high wire over crocodiles vs sharks though.
