On a fat, middle in fastball. That pitch should be crushed, and Yuli hit it straight up.

Swing path issue, I think. Bregman also.

Can't remember if it was a national broadcast or ATTSW, but in week 1or2 an analyst mentioned something about Yuli working on adjusting his swing for (you guessed it) increased launch angle.

Don't know if that has anything to do with anything.   But that tiger's stripes spell out 'line drives' and shouldn't be changed.

Yep, Yankees turned a nice DP with 2 outs.  Stros start the 4th with 1 out I guess, that's smart baseball.

Another rough day for Jake in CF.  Tough chance, but he makes that play 9 out of 10 times.

Yeah the sun and that RCF wall were factors in that triple for sure. He still almost had it.

I love that the pitcher grabbed his ass before remembering "Oh shit! That's a live ball!"

Alvarez smacked the crap out of that ball.

That's gonna leave a mark on the pitcher's derriere.

Fucking idiot Rangers' announcers. Talking about how they've weathered their 21-games-in-20-days stretch, and how they've gone through most of it "without their best player, arguably the best player in the American League." Yes, they're talking about Joey "Windmill" Gallo. He's not even the best player on their team (that would be Mazara), much less the American League.

They're crazy about the AL, but they're not wrong about the team.  He's been shockingly good at the plate and in CF this year.  7th in the AL in WAR.  No idea what got into him.
You may ask yourself, "How do I work this?"

And third in OPS. Mazara isn't close.

Well to be fair, calling Gallo the best player in the AL would be an argument.

Not scoring as much as what you saw. I happened to be listening to that play on the radio on my way from Point A to Point B.

I thought it was a play that should have been made.  Altuve drifted with a popup over his left shoulder and tried a basket catch, as he often does.  He misjudged it and it hit off his glove.

You did not factor in the sun, which Sparks did. He said “no chance if an OFer cannot get there.”

There was no outfielder even close, so he was assuming it was a hit off the bat.  I saw it differently, but I've been particularly harsh on the defense lately.  Perhaps I'm just grumpy.

Not to mention Altuve called it pretty early on. If he had been going full tilt from the get go, he gets under it. He was drifting the entire time.

Also, the look on Jose's face after it dropped should tell you everything you need to know. HE knew he should've gotten there.

Is it the look of a player that has a load lifted off his shoulders?
See a beaming Bregman as Alvarez heads to the dugout after the monster HR. (The camera lingers on him as he enjoys the celebration!)
Priceless!

I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.
