Ran across this feel good article while searching for the name of the scout(s) that signed Alvarez for $2 mil w/ a $2 mil penalty.

"Big leaguers bring rehab bonanza!"

Quote
Catcher Tim Federowicz was impressed with everything John Smoltz had to offer in his minor league rehab assignment.  The All-Star ace brought a lot to the plate: fastball and slider — steak, ribs and fixin's, too.....  "Most of the guys will buy you a spread," Federowicz said. "But it's not usually Longhorn's Steak House....."
++++
(Yankees prospect Bradley ) Suttle, a 23-year-old third baseman, was shocked to learn he'd work out with A-Rod.
++++
And in what may still be the biggest minor league rehab bonanza ever, Roger Clemens in 2006 refurbished the Lexington Legends player's area with new carpeting, leather couches and a 42-inch flat screen TV.

Good stuff!  There's more.

Wanna bet our stars will bless their teammates @ Round Rock while they are there.

Álvarez was a Dodgers signee.
Often wrong, but never in doubt.

Anecdote re: the spread...it's protocol for a big leaguer rehabbing in the minors to pay for at least one post-game spread of food for the team.  Remember, these are guys who are often splitting hamburgers on the road.  It's most often something unusually good, especially if the guy is an established player, even more if he's an All-Star...steaks, big BBQ spread...stuff like that.  Word on the street is, Chuck Knoblauch was the cheapest rehabber off all time in this area, only paying for Dominos to be delivered.  And not even a supreme or cheesy bread.  He was positively Trumpian.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Had no idea.
Following a kid in the Mexican League.  If it's this bad in the minors in the US, can only imagine what it is like south of the border.
And some of these players are married...
Makes it easy to pull for guys like Mayfield, who has been toiling in the minors for a long time, as well as J. D. Davis - now a Met - and Fisher
TY, HH.
