He was blistering hot last June and again late in the season.

I'd settle for warm to the touch now. Too many pop ups. Too few barreled balls for base hits.

It took a while for him to recover and get to 1st after the HBP on 9 June by Phillips in the 8th inning - same inning as Alvarez's HR. (2:26:26)

His mastery of the zone is such that he can put pressure on pitchers to feed him fastballs in the zone. He just hasn't punished them consistently- yet.

Been going on all year. Not selective at all. Except for homers, not punishing the ball. He jams himself quite frequently as he did last night in the 13th with the winning run at second.

On the ESPN feed from the game they showed him in batting practice prior to the game. He was putting a baseball in front of his left foot. It looks like he thinks he's been striding too far in his swing. The ball was put just far enough out to keep his step short.
