Jake Marisnick, Michael Brantley and outfield coach Gary Pettis had a pretty long discussion before going out for the second inning.

I don't know what White is trying to do with his swings, but it's really ugly lately. He's swings are loopy, as if he's trying to get air underneath a pitch but all he does is create an upper cut swing (think a right handed Tucker) that is missing a ton of hittable pitches. I know White is known for going the opposite way with his swings but this new thing he's trying to pull the ball and get it into the air ain't working.
When White swings he usually raises his back foot which I find ludicrous and if I tried it I would fall on my ass.

Wonder if no glasses was the issue for Marisnick in the 1st? If so, he has to be yelling at Brantley to take it.

The mariners conferred for quite some time and decided the right approach was to throw a first pitch fastball right down the middle.
0-2 and then messes around with pitches outside the zone. Forced into a hitters count and serves a fastball right down the middle. Damnit.

This has been a very messy game played by the Astros. From Jake's mistake in the first to every inning from there, the Astros have played a very ugly brand of baseball (save a few good defensive plays). Everything else has been less than professional approaches you come to admire about this club. Either they're tired or spent the night out on the town and are exhausted because of it, but not the sort of play you expect from this club.
