Blah, blah, blah...
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

It would have been helpful if Bregman could have delivered a little single. Or even a walk. Something to get Brantley to the plate.

Bregman hasn't driven in a runner other than himself (twice) since May 13th.

In "help on the farm" news, Whitley entered tonight's start with an ERA over 10 and left with it over 12.
You may ask yourself, "How do I work this?"

I don't have any game video, is Giolito that good today, or are the Astros that bad?
He breezed him, one more time!

Top 8:

Alonso walks on a full count. The last pitch was particularly ugly.
Rondon in to run for Alonso.
Sanchez lines a single off the end of Kemp's glove. Inches away from a double play; instead, there are runners on 1st and 2nd.
Tilson can't get a bunt down and then strikes out swinging on a high fastball.
Moncada strikes out looking at a fastball at the knees.
Anderson strikes out swinging at a 99 mph fastball.

Middle 8, White Sox 4, Astros 0.

Seriously, though, he's thrown about 80% of his pitches for strikes, so the hitters are always in pitcher's counts, and it's shown.

Bottom 8:

Stassi leads off with a single to LCF.
Marisnick flummoxed by sliders again, strikes out swinging. Anybody who throws him a fastball is a fool.
Reddick strikes out swinging.
Bregman up, time to stop posturing and start producing. But, no, he lines out to LF on a needlessly juggled catch. Jimenez certainly makes thing "interesting" out there.

After 8, White Sox 4, Astros 0.

Most likely the best start of his career.

Giolito was the MLB number one pitching prospect in 2016. He looked like that tonight.  He's been good all year. I think it was his third start that he stunk up but otherwise has had all quality performances

Top 9:

Devinski relieves James.

Abreu grounds out.
McCann strikes out.
Garcia grounds out to 2B.

Middle 9, White Sox 4, Astros 0.

Bottom 9:

Brantley grounds out 3-1.
Correa strikes out on a slider.
Gurriel pops out to 3B.

Ugh. Not a wonderful night. Giolito was very good: complete game, 4-hit shutout. Not too shabby.

Final: White Sox 4, Astros 0.

Bullpen was fantastic.  Valdez, James, Devo pitched well and gave us a chance.  Giolito had other ideas though.

He’s always had good stuff, but he’s had problems throwing strikes. I think he was the worst in the league last year at it. But he seems to have corrected that this year. He was a zone pounding machine last night.  And the Astros laid off of a lot of really hittable pitches.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

He has been excellent lately. He completely revamped his throwing motion, and it paid off big time.

I noticed he’s short arming now, almost like a catcher. While that probably helps with control, I wonder if that will add more wear and tear on his arm over time.

Reminded me a bit of Wade Miller last night.
