Ugh. Jose over-achieving again, getting two outs in the same AB instead of the customary one.

No shit. I didn't realize it was hit that hard when it left the bat, but it just kept going.

Mediocre fastballs,  catching all kinds of plate, prove too much for White.

The caught looking by Correa was bad.   He was fooled.  Maddening,  but it happens.

White on the other hand couldn't line up fastballs in his supposed hot spots.  I think he saw 4 in the AB.

Leadoff double, zero runs.  Correa and White never put a ball in play.

KC answers with a leadoff triple.

McHugh's 3 hits allowed:HR, double,  triple.

Not good.

You're allowed to score without hitting the ball over the fence? I was unaware of that.

Correction: it was a double,  not a single.

So 4 extra base hits.

Another case where it seemed to me that Brantley approached that ball with a bit more nonchalance than the situation warranted.

Walk.

1st, 2nd no outs in the 3rd.

Strom out to discuss things.

Somebody please fix McHugh. Does no good to strike out the side if the opposition gets 4 hits between Ks.

Walks the bases loaded.

Nice of the balls were close.

Then gives up a grand slam.

6-0.

Blummer trying to figure out how AJ is going to cover the innings. I think he may not do it. He may just write this one off as one of the 50 games that you never have a chance in and make McHugh eat the innings himself.

Altuve is slumping.

I subscribe to the notion he'll work thru it.   Meanwhile it just sucks to watch.

McHugh on the other hand is more worrisome.

This isn't his first shelling and the season ain't that old.   He's catching way too much plate on way too many pitches.

'71 All-Star game, Reggie Jackson hits a ball off of Dock Ellis that hits the RF roof of Tiger Stadium. I was in high school and watching the game at a friend's house, and we couldn't believe what we were seeing. I don't think TK and Blum have called that one out tonight. And there was the Richie Sexton shot off the flagple at MMPUS.

Tyler White now pitching, proving absolutely that we should have traded him instead of JD Davis.

White pitches clean 9th.

A leadoff walk,  a strikeout and 2 flyballs.

Looking at the video this morning it looks to me like his mechanics are really fucked up.  He's throwing nearly sidearm and his breaking stuff is flat if it moves at all.
Goin' for a bus ride.

Looking at the video this morning it looks to me like his mechanics are really fucked up.  He's throwing nearly sidearm and his breaking stuff is flat if it moves at all.

He dropped down last year when he went to the bullpen and developed the sweeping slider. That is not new (I know I posted about it more than once) and was very effective last year and early this year. It is not the arm slot, but maybe he has dropped down too much and is getting under the ball, which would flatten it out.
Often wrong, but never in doubt.
