Getting ready to watch the worst officiating of all professional sports. Go Rockets.
Hey, there's always FIFA
FIFA is objectively bad; the NBA is clearly fixed. Each of us can decide which we deem to be worse.
1-on-1 dribble, dribble, dribble
And then shoot a 30-foot shot. This is today's NBA.Pair that with the fact that it is plainly rigged, well, I don't know why rational people take the time.
Because they are making all that sweet gambling money!
...and there's the whole problem of Chris Paul aging faster than the vampire in the last five minutes of a Hammer horror film.
Last night, by the way, was the 49th anniversary of the night Willis Reed decided to put on his big boy pants and lead his team to a championship. I doubt Paul noticed.
Walt Frazier lead the team to that championship in game 7. Reed was inspirational but Frazier was phenomenal.
The point is, he was there for his team in the biggest game of the year. It was career defining, irrespective of how many points he scored (and Reed was named Finals MVP, so he had *something* to do with them winning). Paul had that opportunity, even if he could only play 2 minutes, but sat it out. Just rubs me the wrong way.
I agree with all that. Frazier was unreal in game 7 and doesn't get enough credit. They don't make it game 7 without Reed but they don't win game 7 without Frazier's 36 point and 19 assists.
The interwebs are all abuzz this morning about Thompson stepping out of bounds on the Warriors' last possession that put them up by 5. Had he been called, the Rockets would have had the ball, down by three with about 6 seconds left. I didn't see it, but the pictures looked pretty blatant.
Here's an in depth look at Houston possessions in thre least 7 minutes:https://twitter.com/Rockets_Insider/status/1126484470167736324?s=19Ultimately I agree it came down to defense and rebounds. Should also note that when KD went out Curry stepped up for his team. Bastard.
I'm not sure who the right coach for these Rockets is
I'm sure it's not MDA.
MDA's fault for having a team that doesn't play defense or rebound and plays nothing but isoball in the age of isoball. OK.
I just knew that Curry and Thompson were gonna be clutch and Harden was not. MDA is a facilitator, he doesn't coach, he decides who starts and then makes substitutions throughout the game. This team did good in spite of itself.
The fact that Eric Gordon was their second best player, not Chris Paul, was a huge problem. Paul only looked like CP3 for one stretch during the entire series.
Harden scored 35 points, 7 in the last 2.5 minutes. Should he be the only player to do anything? I don't get the bashing of Harden...if they lose, it's because he's not "clutch", even if he scores 30 points in the 4th...if they win, it's in spite of his 50 points. He's a hall of famer, and the best player the Rockets have had since Hakeem. For the past five seasons, the Rockets have been a championship contending team because of him, and would win championships in any year where this particular Warriors team (which I think is the greatest in the history of basketball) is not in the league. Yet people rake him over the coals. I just don't get it.
People just don't like the way Harden plays, I don't get it either. Harden was, for the most part, great this whole series. You can't really get mad about a team, or player, losing to the 90s Bulls or the early 2000s Lakers or the Spurs at the top of their game, or these Warriors. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
What's driven me nuts the least 2 years is that these Warriors are not at the top of their game. But yes, there's no shame in losing to them.
