Umps miss a call on the second pitch of the game, calling a Leonys Martin foul ball a home run. Overturned on review.

Has to be embarrassing to miss that call.

Glad replay was there.

Peacock threw that right down the middle and got lucky.
You may ask yourself, "How do I work this?"

Top 1:
Martin pops foul to 3B with the shift on, Diaz overruns it and reaches back for a circus catch.
Peacock gets Ramirez swinging on 2-2 fastball down the middle.
Gonzales grounds to Correa thanks to the shift.

Mid 1, Indians 0, Astros coming to bat.

Reddick wasn’t sure. He sure didn’t throw his hands up.

BOT 1:
Swinger flails at one down and in. K
Altuve works back from 1-2 to draw a walk.
Bregman pops to shallow center, Altuve holds.
Brantley rolls over for the 4-3.

After 1, no score.

Amazing how last year changed expectations. Bregman has a .929 OPS and I feel like he’s not locked in at all.

TOP 2:

Fox misses the first pitch showing a Vanilla Orange Coke ad.
Santana flies out to medium-deep CF on 0-1.
Kipnis flies softly to LF.
Bauers just misses, flies out to RF

BOT 2:

Correa lines the first pitch over the 2b for a single
Reddick walks on 3-2 with Correa running
Hulk smashes a slider but right at Gonzales in LF, one down, runners hold
Diaz splits the RCF gap, CORREA SCORES, Reddick to 3B, RBI 2b.
Stassi goes to 2-2 on a terrible check swing, takes a cookie for strike 3, just looks brutal at the plate right now.
Springer fouls off a hanging 2-0 slider, yanks a fastball foul, barely checks for 3-2, takes fastball on outside corner for the backwards K.

Astros waste a shot at a big inning, lead 1-0.

TOP 3:

Naquin walks on a full count
Naquin steals second as Altuve runs in front of the bag for the throw
Plawecki strikes out swinging on a changeup(?). Must be moving well because Peacock is getting swing and miss in the zone.
Peacock gets Freeman looking on the backdoor slider
Martin swings through the 2-2 to end the inning

Mid 3, 1-0 Astros

BOT 3:

Bregman just misses it towards the hands, flies just short of the CF track
Brantley swings way in front of the offspeed for the K

After 3, still 1-0 Astros

TOP 4:

Ramirez drops an 0-1 pitch in front of Brantley for a single
Gonzales slaps the 1-1 hit and run the other way, first and third with nobody out.
Santana grounds right to a shifted Correa, steps on second and throws for the easy DP, run comes home.
Kipnis looked like he got all of one, Reddick calmly stands in front of the wall, puts his glove on the yellow stripe, and makes the catch.

Mid 4, tied at 1.

Correa strikes out swinging at one down and in, looks just like Springer’s earlier.
Announcers spend some time singing the Rays’ praises
Reddick off the end of the bat for the 5-3 putout
Yuli fails to check his swing on one that bounced in front of the plate to go 0-1. Then grounds 5-3.

Astros had Bieber on the ropes in the 2nd, let him off, and now he’s cruising.

After 4, tied at 1.

Top 5:

Naquin pops harmlessly to LF
Pawlecki sends one down the 3B line for a double
Freeman strikes out on 3-2, the sixth for Peacock.

Halfway through, 1-1.

BOT 5:

Diaz K swinging at the slider low
Stassi swings 0-2 at one at his eyes. Just an automatic out right now.
Springer draws the walk, steals second - throw sails high but backed up well, no advance
Altuve checks on a 2-2 up and in, but it hits the bat and stays fair for the 1-3 putout.

End 5, still 1-1

That curve to Freeman pisses me off. He had already shown he was completely overmatched by the high fastball.

No decision for Peacock.

The sac fly represented Harris's first run allowed this season.

The lone hit for batters 1 thru 4 was Altuve's infield chopper.

Correa has 2 and Diaz the other 1.

You are not missing anything. There is no actual info. Just reports from random "reporters" who have secondary sources. The way the case was handled by the police and courts tell me that if anything happened, it was minor and probably only verbal.

The Blue Jays were not going to play him. He had 2 options, fight the suspension, not play now and risk losing and missing 80 games later on or just accept it and focus on the legal part.

I read quite a bit about the case at the time from lawyers who understand Canadian law and the consensus that I found was that it was "likely a minor offense at most"

Fucking insane. Judge and jury, you and others. The facts/allegations were not disclosed. The woman wants him to parent their child. The prosecutors dismissed the charge, which they would not have done if the facts are egregious. I was foreman of two grand juries and learned, if I did not already know, not ever allegation is true. The Astros clubhouse would have reacted him if he were a bad person.

I do not know why I bother with Osuna threads. I am talking to all-knowing, holier than thou brick walls.

Ok. Show me then

Find it yourself. I cared enough to do so, I found out what happened (which was very physical), and then the reporting that I'd found in the Canadian press was confirmed by sources close to the team.

I'm not interested in rehashing all of this, it just annoys me when people, you, in this latest instance, spout bullshit without having any real information at all. And everyone who runs around acting like it is unreasonable to be bothered by what Osuna did can go fuck themselves.

In 2019, an accusation is as good as a conviction. Facts don't matter as much as outrage for outrage sake

You are also providing zero information

Too me, Osuna will always be that guy who had domestic violence charges dropped because his spouse declined to testify. However, due to the ambiguity of the information available, I can not judge Osuna with certainty or conclusively. So I choose to let his behavior from here on help define who he is. Given a new opportunity, I hope he proves he is a good citizen and spouse. I support his efforts to improve as a person. And if you don't like that, you can go fuck yourself.

I and others have gently been telling you necks for months that we know what happened and that it was physical and that it was bad. You are very welcome to conclude whatever you like about what the consequences of that might and should be. Reasonable people can have very different opinions on that front.

But again, you have been told that it was physical and bad and you and others have decided to ignore that information and make up your own reality. That's fine too, I guess. People do it all the time. I have several sources close to the team, and what I'm told is told to me in confidence. Not all of it is explosive. Most of it is very routine. I knew about the Miley signing several weeks in advance of its announcement for example. If you want to know exactly what Osuna did, find the initial reports out of Canada that describe the incident and you will know the specifics, too. If you don't, don't. Take my word for what happened, or don't. But don't spout nonsense about No one knows what happened or It was probably not physical or whatever else has been said by ignorant abuse apologists and expect not to get corrected.

And by the way, Sphinx, I am all for forgiveness and redemption and so on, but for a father to learn that this had happened to their daughter and to immediately talk of forgiveness and second chances, well, that would be an extraordinary individual.

"Trust me I have inside sources" is not the information I was looking for. Thank you I will keep looking.

I understand and I wouldn't expect a father to be calm and rational in the aftermath of "this." Or a brother, or an uncle or grandparent. Though, I would hope they wouldn't do anything to make things worse.
