That non-call on the ball off of correa’s foot is pretty, pretty bad.

What's the rationale behind that not being a reviewable call?

Because they missed it and it isn't reviewable despite the fact that replay clearly showed the ball hitting his foot.

Or, more succinctly:
It's bullshit.

It doesn't make sense why it is not review-able. If they ruled HBP it would be, I think.

They could simplify all of this review bullshit by simply saying that anything (other than balls and strikes) that's caught on camera is reviewable. A manager gets two or three misses, after which they can't request any more reviews. Done.

2 runners on, 1 out for Correa and a foul ball gets missed and turns into a double play.

Altuve has the swim slide lined up to steal 2nd but his landing gear jams and he's out having never touched the bag.

Plus that prick Bauer is a pretty good pitcher.  Fucker.

Also another stupid-fuck attempted steal that led to an out when the Astros were down by a run. Unfortunately common.

To be fair, that was a hit and run where Bregman had no chance to even protect him.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Bregman did not try. He took the pitch. Someone missed a sign. I agree Altuve thought it was a hit and run because he looked in at Bregman halfway to second.

I know it evens out, but it seems like we've had worse than average umpiring luck to start the year.

I can't shake the feeling that we've pissed the umpires off, and we're paying for it. It's probably not a conscious thing on the umpires' part, but I think they're a little less willing to give the benefit of the doubt, or to listen to arguments, and so on.

I've wondered the same.

Between the preseason Hernandez imbroglio and the Culpa mess they've had some high profile dust ups.

But AJ sets a great tone,  the players follow suit,  and they keep talk of robot umps to themselves.
