Everyone's talking, few of them know
The rest are pretending, they put on a show
And if there's a message I guess this is it
Truth isn't easy, the easy part's shit

Maybe, but Beltran was the best at picking up on that stuff.

Quote
“I did find out I was tipping my pitches when there were guys at second base, so they knew what was coming,” the left-hander said Sunday before the Yankees faced the White Sox at the Stadium. “They were fouling off some pretty good pitches, taking some pretty good pitches. There were stealing some signs. So that’s didn’t help.”
But then there's this:

Quote
The Astros actually did their most damage without men in scoring position. Jose Altuve hit a pair of solo homers, Yuri Gurriel laced an RBI triple and Carlos Correa added an RBI double with a runner on first.

But then there's this:

And this:

“Paxton was peppered for five runs and eight hits in four-plus innings by the Astros with an 8-6 victory that night. None of the hits that Paxton permitted came with a runner at second base”
Another trenchant comment by a jealous lesser intellect.

Right, our runners were never on 2nd when those rbi hits happened. But Beltran supposedly shows him pitches when they were occupying 2nd and claims that Astros would have offered at pitches in question unless they knew what was coming. That’s their “proof”. Also, Yankee yahoos and other Astro hating “baseball fans” will just blabber on and on about the Astros cheating and stealing signs like they did against Cleveland and Boston, without reading the truth that is reported in that article because they have selective reading skills. They’re guilty as charged in the court of public opinion.

Well, he also admitted, "That being said, I also didn't throw the ball very well. I was over the middle of the plate too much even when there were guys not on second base, so I need to be better at that as well."

That's the only thing he should have said.

Exactly. Sometimes you should just tip your cap to the hitters. as distasteful as that can be sometimes, STFU and get back to work.

Well, whatever he changed it's working so far against the Yankees.  Sale, on the other hand, is getting taken to the woodshed again.
You may ask yourself, "How do I work this?"

Must be the Astros’ fault, from management to the ballboys. No other explanation for Sale getting blown up. All a part of the plan. There’s no way the Yankees could have had a good night on their own.

He is just pitching better against a different team. If you really are tipping pitches, you do not tell the media. Same thing if you really are stealing signs or seeing pitches tipped.

My comment was mostly tongue in cheek.  I always assumed what he said had nothing to do with the Astros and was aimed at getting the NY media off his ass after a couple of bad starts.

Saw a video on line, that I can't find now of someone showing that he wasn't hiding his glove well with Correa at second and White batting.  Correa could see in the glove and looked right for fast ball and looked left for off speed.  It was interesting.

This is the kind of stuff I did at UT from the first base coach’s box. When I had the pitches, I would give them to Falk (closed fist fastball, open hand curve)),and he would give them to the hitters who wanted them (first name fastball, last name curve). Bob Snoddy, our first baseman, won the SWC batting title, and he gave me credit in an interview for giving him pitches all year. Falk was apoplectic.

I'm waiting for the movie.

I hope they don't give it to JJ Abrams.

People would value that text more if they knew how long it took to chisel.

I'm pretty sure one of the Dead Sea scrolls has a reference to it.
