‘86 NLCS

Special of that series is on mlb tv right now.  I was 5, but I still remember my dad being pissed after that one.

I was crushed. I had a ticket for Game Seven.
Often wrong, but never in doubt.

I was sitting in the Mezzanine (gray seats, right?) about 15 feet inside of the LF pole and watched the HR  go straight up over my head.

Some number of years ago, Footer tweeted out something J.D. said as he re-watched Game 6 during one event or another. More than twenty years after the fact, his reaction was simply "I still can't believe we lost that game."

I'll watch all that bullshit again right around the time I decide to rewatch the Oilers - Bills game.

That one still hurts.  When the oilers left Houston I pretty much stopped watching football altogether.  Still may only watch a few games a year.

Watching Frank Reich highlights during the Texans game today made it all so much more fun.

Bob Knepper still haunts my dreams ---  agree with the sentiment (too soon and devastated still).

Mike Scott woulda thrown a no-hitter in game 7 ---  my lips to George Burns' ears

I listened to game 6 on the radio. Never seen the video.

Me too.

I don't think I could stomach it.

I was crushed. I had a ticket for Game Seven.

My brother and Dad were at Game 6 and had tickets for Game 7. I was promised Games 1 and 2 of the World Series. It was with the greatest pleasure that I was able to fulfill that promise in 2005 and take my parents to the world series.

I stayed home from school the day of Game 6 so I could watch it and update my mom at work.

If I recall, I got home from school just in time to see the 9th (yay, me!).  But I got to see the rest of the game.  I still see Kevin Bass swinging over the top of Jesse Orosco sliders in my nightmares.

Hatcher's HR was my favorite Astro homer until 2017.  Had plenty to choose from for that year.

Similar thoughts on Hatcher's home run.

I had a midterm test late afternoon.  The game should have been over by then, but...  Anyways, get out of the test not knowing what is up, on my way to my car listening on a little radio, I hear Hatcher's HR and am going nuts.  Got home in time to see Bass flail away.

I have a terrible memory and only remember the big events.  I remember that day though.

I'll never forget Charlie Kerfeld's reaction to Hatcher's homerun.  It was beautiful.

Goddamn, I still hate the fucking mets.

Had the lead as 9th grade football practice started.

Practice finished and it was in extras.

Home to watch the rest on the 19" curtis mathis in the front room while my sister and a friend did math homework in the living room.

Sat there crying by myself after the 16th.
