Everyone's talking, few of them know
The rest are pretending, they put on a show
And if there's a message I guess this is it

The disturbing aspect of that is that when they score early they tend not to score again. Especially not good with the bullpen's recent behavior.

Good to have GZ tonight in McKinney as the rain has made watching the game an impossibility even though DirectTV never goes out in a rainstorm. Except 100% of the time. Will get back to my small batch Rye now.

If they have 15 in the pen, why’d they have a catcher on the mound yesterday.  Aren’t those games perfect for #s 13-15.

Trout loses one in the lights.

As many gappers as he has tracked down against the Astros, he owed us that.

And there's the Cole sudden disintegration, although it's hard to get mad about getting burned by Trout.

Looked to me like that ball bounced off of Jake's wrist, i.e., he was actually just a smidgeon past where he needed to be.

Absolutely.  He overran it.

He looked up to check the location of the wall a few steps shy of the dive point; that may have been all it took to disrupt his navicomputer.

It turns out that Laureano hasn't hit into a single double play all year. I think it's pretty clear that he just was not Astros material.

Twins get six in the sixth, up 6-4.

Well that lead was nice... while they had it.

Twins bring in some herky jerky corksoaker who promptly gives up a two run home run. Six-six in the sixth.

Predictable ending, A's walk off in the 10th.

Good thing, too. In extra innings I was afraid the A's were going to burn through all their pitchers.

Good to have GZ tonight in McKinney as the rain has made watching the game an impossibility even though DirectTV never goes out in a rainstorm. Except 100% of the time. Will get back to my small batch Rye now.

A properly installed dish doesn’t go out in the rain. Who knows what Dallas-area fuckstick installed yours.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

The disturbing aspect of that is that when they score early they tend not to score again. Especially not good with the bullpen's recent behavior.

Good grief. I think you could make Christmas morning a sad day.

Just cruising along and then: wham! two balls just scorched.

Y’all understand the other side has major league hitters? Calling a HR by Trout a “disintegration” is mind-boggling.

I saw no griping. What I read was dark gloom precting ultimate failure after a grand slam in the first inning.

some post-game notes:

Cole is 12th fastest in ML history to reach 1,000 Ks.

Cole, 10+ strikeouts / 0 walks, career:
 2013: 0
 2014: 1
 2015: 0
 2016: 0
 2017: 1
 2018: 4

Last night was the first time in ML history two brothers hit two or more HRs on the same day.

Yuli's 7 RBIs are the most by an Astro in a single game since the slugger J.R. Towles had 8 in Sept. 2007 against St. Louis.

Sipp has retired 14 of last 18 hitters he's faced.
