both games were nail bitters that is for sure.  amazing excellent that they won, period.  not taking anything away from that, you just have to wonder  what if the whole crew had been there.

The pitching keeping the game close, and the offense battling (even when they weren't scoring runs) gave the games a playoff atmosphere, IMHO.  The team's not nearly at full strength, but they still won both games late. That can only help boost confidence.

Both games reminded me of Beltran, Bagwell, and Berkman ambusing the Giants and Dustin Hermanson at that ballpark in 2004.  I had the same feeling both games as I did back in 2004.

I was at Monday night's game.  Amazing how much energy drained out of the stadium after Marwin's blast. 

I was also very surprised by how many Astros fans were there.  To me, it looked like at least a third of the crowd.

It appears that the backups have not been taking many naps on the bench, while the starters are working opposing pitchers.

One of the few nice things about having all of these injured players is the re-emergence of Tyler White.  Not saying that he will ever be a full-time starter, but he's got a good eye (leading to a .371 OBP), enough pop in the bat, and can play a bunch of positions on the field.

He could be a full time starter now.  Since getting called back up in September 2016 he's hit .276/.350/.540.  That's big league stuff.

I wouldn’t go that far. White will never play anything but 1B except in a blowout, or some crazy injury- or extra-inning situation.

Correct. He is inadequate anywhere else fulltime.
