Why is Max Stassi swinging at first pitch slop with a runner on 3rd and no outs instead of getting something to drive?

Fuck JD Davis. I'd rather bat 8 than have his worthless ass in the lineup. Shitty at bat after shitty at bat.

A good throw from Reddick might've gotten him there.

Keuchel is getting knocked around this inning.

You're right. This isn't the highest level of baseball or anything. It should be dumbed down so Cletus Lightenberg can understand and enjoy it.

Not.

He slid in to Bumgarner, who already had the ball as Reddick arrived.

If he'dve completly sold out to the pitching mound side and tried to reach back for it, he would've had a chance, but the throw got back to home quickly.

As it turns out he slid awkwardly directly into the path of the ball and MB tagged him on his face.

Out by a relative mile.

Had he done this he would have been safe since Bumgarner was stumbling forward, but to anticipate that you'd have to be some sort of Bagwellian baserunning genius.

White was SO overmatched his first two cuts. That was awesome. Shortened up, went compact, and fucking unloaded.

Now, whenever Derek Fisher does something inept or amateurish, I hear in my head Dr. Guggenheim from Rushmore’s voice exclaim “Fischer!”

To Bregman's credit, he hit the shit out of it.

If he'dve been called out on that pickoff, the game is over. There just wasn't a good angle on the replay to see exactly when he hit the bag.

What a road trip.

The A's won their last game,  but have lost a full game in the standings since then.

Kudos to the entire pitching staff.

The pickoff play in the 9th:

Our radio guys thought he was out, as did the SF broadcast team (on the At Bat video).  Seeing the replay,  I think he was out but understand why the didn't overturn it; both broadcasts agreed the definitive angle was missing.

That was a nice move and great tag by Yuli.

I saw White’s first two pitches and had to leave. As I was leaving I noticed he had choked up quite a bit. Cannot wait to see the replay. It is bottom 6 now.

White was SO overmatched his first two cuts. That was awesome. Shortened up, went compact, and fucking unloaded.

(Around 2:38) As the Giants announcers watched replays of Whyte's HR, they wondered if Boche wished Black has thrown at least one curve instead of all fb.  They said Whyte was ready for the last fb.  When one remembered the chin music on pitch #3, the other said, "Not THAT could add a little to his bat speed...."

After the high inside pitch that was hard for his catcher to snag, Black shook his head as he walked toward the mound.  When he looked up it seemed he was suppressing a bit of a smile.  Was he enjoying that last pitch?

If so, not for long....

When White swung at strike 2, I thought to myself, you're going to get another fastball, and if you don't change your approach, you're going to whiff.

Tyler choked up and was looking heater, and he mashed that shit. That is what professional hitters do. Good for him.

I have been really disappointed in Davis.  I really think he has the tools and ability to hit at this level, but he just hasn't.  I hope it's not attitude or coachability (see Wallace, Brett).
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Gotta love it!
Such an difference in size, talent, salary, status, and potential on display, but that's why we love baseball.
It didn't matter on the last pitch!

Agree with all that. White has struggled some but is getting by on a lot less natural talent.
