Sure would be nice if McCullers could not hand out 2 free baserunners to start the game.

LMJ just doesn’t look comfortable on the mound tonight. Some of these pitches aren’t even close.

This A's team is pretty good.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Going back to last night, the A’s have gotten two strike calls on pitches the catcher flubbed. When does that ever happen?

Pinder swung at a 58 footer for strike 2, then McCullers puts one on a tee 0-2 for him.

According to GameCast, Altuve laid off a couple of pitches that were inside the dirt area.

It's thin because they've stepped on their fucking dicks the last few nights.

I did a double take when I just looked up the starters.  Edwin Jackson?  Can't be the same...yep it is.  He's 34 and in his 16th season pitching for his 13th team.  That's resiliency.

He doesn't strike me as the kind of hitter who would get his swing jacked up by participating, like some other players have alluded to.

Gameday says he's getting squeezed.

Not really

He's kind of all over the place.

Cionel looks good to me. He also looks like Abe Lincoln.

Or Mephistopheles.
You may ask yourself, "How do I work this?"

Not totally surprising. He’s probably got some 747’s flying around in his belly.

Decent debut. Has a live arm for his size. Will be interesting to see how he comes along with more appearances.

Isn’t that a line from Bull Durham?

I sort of liked what I saw from Perez. His breaking ball seems a little unfocused but I can't imagine how nuts a ML debut must be for anyone.

I like his demeanor on the mound. Also, I couldn't help but notice he throws with his left hand.

Me too. Looking forward to seeing him some more. Was kind of surprised he went back out for a second inning after throwing almost 70 pitches 3 days prior. I was encouraged. I’m sure the fielders like that he worked so quick. If that is what the pitch clock does for you then bring it up from the minors too. I could get used to seeing that pace.

I liked him too. He was so amped up it is a wonder he threw any strikes. I hope he sticks and does not get traded at the deadline.

I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.
