The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

Looked like he kinda jogged out of the box then was surprised that Diaz got there. Cost him a hit.

Pretty good reactions by Martin there. Bastard.

He should be. If the MVP is going to bunt with a RISP, he should at least not botch it.

That’s a Sandlot reference, right? I saw that movie once. I don’t understand any universe in which any character from that movie is more memorable than most bit players in Bull Durham, Major League, Field of Dreams or Bad News Bears.

T9:

Rondon in

Solarte with a flair single over the SS
Smoak strikes out looking
Pillar flies out F7
Martin walks, Solarte to 2B
Grichuk flies out F8

Astros with a nice shutout win!  7-0 is the final.
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

The vaunting was welcome, but CFM is the story for me.

I thought he was going to pitch a no-hitter.

All of those movies are memorable.  Maybe you should watch it again.

I agree. Sandlot is a classic right up there with the others.

I didn't like it that much but it was better than the one with the monkey or the kid pitcher.

Did you ever play  sandlot baseball with neighborhood kids? That is how I spent my summers.

Of course, I did. Though, we mostly played on a cul-de-sac and with tennis balls or occasionally at Hager Park with real balls when we could get enough people.  Sometimes we played wiffle ball in a backyard.

The Sandlot is not a bad movie, It's a great family movie. I don't think it's on par with Bull Durham, Field of Dreams, Eight Men Out, The Rookie, Pride of the Yankees, A League of Their Own, The Natural, Bad News Bears, Bang the Drum Slowly, or several others when it comes to baseball movies.  It flogs the hell out of John Goodman as the Babe.

So did I. I don't think kids do that anymore. Sad.

I like all of those too. Field of Dreams is my favorite. The Hollywood ending of The Natural was bullshit.
