What was Altuve thinking there?

Keuchel is handed another early lead. Let’s hope he pitches even better than he thinks he’s pitching right now.

T1:

Springer...full count...draws a leadoff walk
Bregman singles to CF, Springer to 2B
Altuve doubles to LCF, Springer scores, Bregman scores
Correa flies out to shallow CF on the first pitch, Altuve tries to tag...why, I have no idea, and is easily out 8-5 at 3B.  Really bad base running
Gurriel flies out F8

2-0 Astros

When did Keuchel get the Mike Fiers style tats on his right arm? Noticed it during his last start...

Offseason.  He's had them all year.  I don't think any of them say "KEUCHEL" though.

T5:

Marwin...3-0...3-1...doubles to RCF
Stassi taps back to the mound, out 1-3, Marwin has to hold at 2B
Marisnick with a check swing single to RF, Marwin scores as the throw goes WAY over the cutoff man, allowing Jake to move into scoring position
Springer grounds to 3B, Moustakas kicks it...Marisnick to 3B and Springer reaches on the E5...good fortune there, as Marisnick was dead meat until Moustakas took his eye off the ball
Bregman flies out F7...Marisnick scores and Springer to 2B on the sac fly
Altuve...3-0...3-1...3-2...walks as Springer steals 3B
Correa flies out F7

4-0 Astros

B5:

Escobar strikes out looking
Almonte grounds out 5-3
Butera grounds to SS, and Correa can't come up with the short hop...E6
Goins singles to RF, Butera to 3B
Merrifield doubles to LF on the first pitch, Butera scores, Goins to 3B
Moustakas grounds to SS...shift on, Correa makes a great backhand play, but Yuli can't pick the low throw...Goins scores, Merrifield to 3B on the infield single
Perez...0-2...1-2 as Moustakas steals 2B...strikes out swinging

But the error is costly...two unearned runs makes it 4-2 Astros

Wow... looks like it’s been a great game. A combination of an early morning and a plate full of enchiladas and I lost 5 innings to the couch... if anything starts to go amiss I’ll go back to sleep.

Gordon hit by pitch
Escobar...0-2...1-2...flies out F8

7-2 Astros

McCann pinch running for Stassi, who looks a little loopy.  Not sure if it's a cramp or just light in the head

Cramp I think and hope. Have they said anything about Gurriel?

Nothing specific, only that he was feeling the heat in the top of the inning while on base.  Hopefully that's just a precautionary thing too.

Gonna be some IV's in the locker room after this one.

T9:

Smith in for the Royals

Stassi...full count...lines one over the RFer's head, but just sorta waddles down to 1B...he's feeling it...trainer out...and he's gonna come out...McCann in to pinch run
Marisnick strikes out swinging
Springer singles to RF, McCann to 2B
Bregman homers to LF, McCann scores, Springer scores
Altuve...3-0...3-1...3-2...walks
Correa grounds into 5-4-3 double play

To the bottom of the 9th...Astros lead 10-2

Yep, he was getting lots of trainer attention after he scored.

Days like today are brutal, especially behind the dish.  Hopefully all is well once they get cooled off and get some fluids.

Double brutal tomorrow.

Improvement by Keuchel today. Not an elite team, but his location was much better.

Seems like KC is always like this. It would be nice to play there in May or September sometime.

B9:

Devo in to try to close this one out...Kemp in at 2B for Altuve and McCann stays in to catch

Almonte...0-2...1-2...2-2...3-2...strikes out swinging
Butera...full count...strikes out swinging
Goins pops out F3 in foul territory

Astros win 10-2...their 9th "W" in a row

I spent a large part of my career working outside. You can adjust mentally to the heat and it's doable. But, hydrate or die. I used to drink 2 quarts of Gatorade and 10 to 12 pints of water a day. Heat cramps are a bummer.

It's doubly tough catching, as the squatting and up and down are 100X worse in the heat.  You really feel it in your hips, which is what looked like what happened to Stassi.  Hopefully, it's just heat cramps.

As for working in the heat, I always tell my crews you should drink enough that you have to piss at least every two hours.  If you wait until you're thirsty, you're too late.  We have urine color charts on the walls too.

Offseason.  He's had them all year.  I don't think any of them say "KEUCHEL" though.

Do any of them say "FIERS" ?
