We always get stuck with bums like Jose Altuve, Carlos Correa, Alex Bregman, Dallas Keuchel, Roy Oswalt, Lance Berkman, Craig Biggio, Jeff Bagwell...etc.
The problem is that in today's game, a lot of people seem to expect young players to come up and immediately dominate. Thus, when guys like Singleton, Reed, Fisher, Teoscar, Preston Tucker, and Domingo Santana are called up and don't succeed, these people are disappointed. The Astros right now, unlike other teams, are not giving these young players a month or more of steady at bats, and I would imagine that that makes it even more difficult.
