BA recently released that Astros International Free Agent Recap from last year.
Astros signed 49 players with the highest bonus at $300,000 (7 players got that bonus)
Some names to watch in the future:
Heitor Tokar 6'7" 250 RHP 17 years old. 88-91 fast ball with a plus 80-84 change.
Wilyer Abreu was able to play in the DSL last year (.286/.377/.345 in 34 games) He might be on the GCL roster when it comes out next month. L/L 6'0" 170 - look for him to play center.
Sleeper who is already moved up: 21 year old RHP Luis Garcia signed for just $20,000. When they scouted him, he was throwing mid 80's. When they signed him he was hitting the high 80's and now he is in the low 90's. Due to his age, they jumped him from the DSL to Quad Cities. So far, in 5 games (18 IP) he has allowed 13 hits, 4 runs, 3 earned runs, 1 HR, 7 walks and has fanned 24. has above average curve and throws strikes.
