The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

That's a bit of a miracle to get out of all that traffic with only one run scored.

Does anybody have advice for improving my technique on full barre chords? Or is the answer simply "practice more, it will come eventually"?

I stared at the MLB app for a few seconds wondering if the Astros 0 runs and 2 hits and D’Backs 0 hits and 1 run could be correct. The possibilities leading to that result were fairly clear, but I preferred not to believe them.

Make sure you hand is in the right position.  Use the boney part of your index finger, not the fleshy part....sort of roll your finger.  Hold the head of the guitar up, less horizontal.  And yes, practice.

First CB of the inning gets mashed for a HR on a 73mph curve. Velocity on all other pitches look fine.

Since the CB strike on the 3rd pitch of the game, Morton missed with his next 7 CB’s then gave up the HR on the last. Just not working tonight.

T3:

Morton singles to LF
Springer grounds into FC...Morton out 6-4, Springer to 1B
Altuve walks, Springer to 2B
Correa lines out at the wall in CF, as Pollock crashes into the wall...ball was smoked, but nothing to show for it
Gurriel...quickly 0-2...smashes one to 3B, Peralta knocks it down, but no play on the infield single...Springer to 3B, Altuve to 2B
Reddick taps back to the mound, Greinke comes home and Springer out 1-2

Astros hit some balls hard, but leave the bases loaded

2-0 Snakes

Springer should have been tagging on that ball. If the CF catches it he can advance, if he misses it, there's no chance on earth that the get him. He would have scored on the Gurriel ground ball if he had advanced.

Disagree with runner behind him.  If he's standing on 2B, waiting, that ball comes off the wall and he probably scores, but maybe not.  Either way, no way Altuve could have scored, might have not made 3B.  You anticipate that ball gets down and be ready to run.

Morton is a stud, btw. Ditches the curve and goes 4-seamer, split, cutter and is looking great.

Yeah, very impressed by how he has gotten things together.

Although now he's going to have to work through trouble again with that leadoff double.

<<edited to add; man, I gotta keep my mouth shut>>

I'm blaming Kalas.  It's uncanny how often he either predicts something or totally jinxes it.
You may ask yourself, "How do I work this?"

Goldschmidt scares me.
I remember all the good times me 'n Miller enjoyed

B5:

Greinke doubles to RF
Peralta singles to LCF, thrown out 8-4 trying to stretch it to a double, Greinke scores...DBacks not challenging though replays show he's safe...wow
Descalso hit by pitch
Goldschmidt strikes out swinging
Pollock grounds out 5-3 on a blue star play by Bregman in foul territory...what's new

3-1 DBacks

Also,to reference HH, the D’Backs marketing department would have done a bang up job if the jerseys read “Serpientes” instead of the tepid “los D’Backs.”

Reddick...takes a 2-0 fat pitch, (SWING THE FUCKING BAT)...2-1...2-2 chasing in the dirt...full count...takes a fat pitch for strike three...SWING THE FUCKING BAT!!!!
Bregman...takes strike one...takes strike two...1-2...grounds out 5-3

That's all for Greinke...Chafin in...

McCann...3-0...four pitch walk
Marwin...from the starboard side...check swing a pitch that bounces in front of the plat makes it 1-2...McCann to 2B on a wild pitch that makes it 2-2...full up...walks

Chafin out, Bradley in...

Gattis, pinch hitting for Morton, 2-0...better be ready to hit something here...swings at a pitch in his eyes and grounds out 5-3

Avila, pinch hitting for Bradley...0-2...1-2...takes strike three to even the count...full up...takes strike four for a leadoff walk.  This ump is a disaster
Marerro pinch runs for Avila
Peralta grounds to SS...shift on, so Bregman is there who throws to Correa at 2B for  the force, but Peralta beats the relay
Descalso..extreme infield shift on again...hits a towering fly ball to RF, in the air forever, but with the shift, Reddick was in CF...can't get there and it bounces over the fence for a double...Peralta has to stop at 3B...break for the Astros.

McHugh out, Smith in...

Goldschmidt with a soft pop up to 1B on the first pitch
Pollock...0-2...1-2...strikes out swinging at a good slider off the plate

3-1

I like having him in the bottom third...he's more of a rally starter than an RBI man.

Hirano in for the Snakes...

Gurriel grounds out 5-3
Reddick...3-0...walks
Bregman...2-0...takes a fastball for strike one...flies out F9
McCann doubles to RF, Reddick score
Marisnick pinch runs for McCann
Marwin...2-0...now be ready to fucking hit!...3-0...takes a strike on the corner...pitcher and catcher can't get on the same page...now we're ready...walks
Fisher, pinch hitting for Smith...doubles to RF on the first pitch, Marisnick scores, Marwin to 3B
Springer...chasing to make it 0-2...goes down swinging

But a new ballgame...3-3

Somebody around here loves doubles...Fisher gets his to tie this baby up!

If loving doubles is wrong,  I don't want to be right.

Well, now that George has struck out, I kind of wish that Pettis had sent Marwin on Fisher's double.

The replay didn't show Marwin's progress.

Throw was up the line.

B8:

Rondon in

Souza lines out to CF as Springer runs it down and makes the over the shoulder catch
Marte flies out F7 on the first pitch
Ahmed...0-2...strikes out swinging

To the 9th...all knotted at 3

He breezed him, one more time!

T9:

Boxberger in for the DBacks

Altuve...down 0-2 trying to bunt his way on...grounds out 6-3...makes it close, but just nipped at the bag
Correa...3-0...takes a strike at the ankles...late on a 91 mph fat pitch down the middle...punches out at a pitch in his eyes
Gurriel...0-2...grounds out 6-3

Shit

3-3

Nice bunt.

4 feet to the right of Altuve's foul attempt.

I don’t like that application of the replay, but I would have been cool with calling Dyson out in that instance.

It was close.

I sure hope he gets Owings, because I don't want Goldschmidt coming up with men on base.

B9:

Devo in...Stassi in to catch...

Mathis bunts for a single
Dyson pinch runs for Mathis...can't imagine he wont' take 2B
Throw over to 1B, ruled safe, but Hinch challenging...looks like his hand might have come off the bag...upheld
Marrero bunts...Devo with a nice play getting over to it and getting Dyson at 2B...Marerro to 1B on the FC
Marrero takes 2B with no throw
Peralta...0-2...1-2...2-2...full count...strikes out swinging on a check swing...tried to check, but called out by 3B ump...Peralta pissed...someone gets tossed, I think
Owings, pinch hitting for Boxberger...full count...walks
Goldschmidt takes a couple of strikes to make it 3-1...ump still blowing chunks...full count...runners will be on the move so no chance for a play at the plate...walks...Marerro to 3B, Owings to 2B

That's all for Devo...Peacock in...

Pollock singles to LF on the first pitch, Marrero scores

DBacks win it 4-3
