Little trouble with the pennant reveal. Still glorious.

It was awesome, but I'm sure that's going to show up on Deadspin with a suitable pithy/brain dead headline.

That's why I used both terms.  They think it's one, it will be the other.

Springer doubles. Bregman doubles down the left field line to drive him in. Astros 1-0.

I’m surprised they didn’t challenge the Bregman out.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure he was safe, but I guess Hinch didn't want to use it up in the first inning.

I guess he didn’t either, but I wonder what the calculus is there—especially given the Bannister model of receiving unlimited challenges. If you potentially have the opponent’s starter on the ropes in the first inning of the first game of the series, seems to me you’d press the case. Maybe they saw an angle where he was definitively out.

Interesting factoid, or not.

O's left side of the infield: 1st pick and a 3rd pick.
Astros left side: 1st pick and a 2nd pick.

I agree with the logic, but he looked out to me. Terrible baserunning. Thankfully don't see that often from this club.

Didn't he foul one off that same foot yesterday?  When he did, he bent over and the trainer came out.  I thought for a second he was going to leave the game yesterday.

I have to give Fisher some love. I criticized him during the spring saying he didn’t look ready. If he continues this he’s going to be fun to watch all year.

He had that exact same hit yesterday.  It's like he knows it's going to be 4 inches off the plate.  I mean it's 98mph out there, you don't just "let it travel" when it's 98mph out there.
