If he tears it up in AAA, he will be here in June.

Pretty exciting.  I wonder if the super-two date is closer to 120 days or 150 days this year.
Another trenchant comment by a jealous lesser intellect.

I know the answer, of course. When is the Super Two cutoff date? I doubt they’ll wait until June.

I think it's not a set date because it depends on how the 22% of players is defined which depends on how teams call players up.

I don't know if they'll necessarily wait for Super Two - it may depend on Fisher's performance.

Kind of my thoughts as well. Or maybe more the performance of the team. If the Astros are playing well, they’ll be content to wait for the Super Two deadline. If they’re struggling to score runs, and Fisher is part of the problem, they’ll bring Tucker in a heartbeat.

Fisher needs to realize that there is probably something greener on the other side.

Marisnick has demonstrated her still is who he is. Tucker in LF makes a lot of sense, but I understand the issue.

On a related not, Acuna turned down a $30M extension offer from the Braves so I guess he starts the year in AAA. He, of course, is Atlanta’s Tucker.

I think the Astros would have to be really, REALLY struggling for Luhnow to give up that extra year of control on Tucker.

I would think that, in order to protect Tucker's super two status, that once Gurriel returns flipping Fisher and Davis between Houston and Fresno is a real possibility.

How are you gonna keep him down on the farm...

Once he sees Karl Hungus?

Fisher gets his shot.  I hope he makes the most of it, but Tucker in June/July seems more likely to me.
You may ask yourself, "How do I work this?"

Unless they lock him up to a long term deal like the Phillies just did with their hot shot prospect, Kingery.  Then super 2 doesn't matter.

The article I read said that Atlanta only needed to wait until April 13 to call Acuna up without losing the extra year of control. I don't know if that same date would apply to Tucker, or if the dates are specific to each player depending upon factors peculiar to each. For that matter, I don't even know if the article is correct.

That’s the date to secure an extra season of control. He’d still be a “Super Two”.

Being Super Two doesn’t mean losing a year of control, it just means an extra year of arbitration eligibility. The Astros still get six full Major League seasons of control.
