Maybin
« on: January 13, 2018, 10:21:47 pm »
One forgotten fact about WS Game 2 is Maybin led off the top of the 11th with a single and stole second, which put Springer in a RF mode in his AB. It is obvious Maybin will not be back, but he was a great addition, and I will miss him.
Often wrong, but never in doubt.

I really liked Maybin as well though I thought at times his effort on defense was lacking. He had some big hits and his speed is something that will be missed. If he was a lefty batter I have no doubt they would resign him and platoon him with Marisnick.

Luhnow and Hinch were masterful last season.

BS re effort. He pulled up on one ball to LF and took responsibility for it. Name one other time. He is a better CFer than Springer and moved him to RF when he played. Maybin was the best OFer on the team and a base stealer equal to Altuve. What a luxury to have on the bench.

May have been the mlb 'extended cut' on Springer's dinger,  but there's a clip of GS saying just that.

Found it.  1:10 mark is where Springer talks about his approach,  followed immediately by AJ explaining why it is that he's a great manager without saying so directly.

Yep, he was just trying to get him over. The stolen base was huge for Springer’s approach.
