Donaldson
« on: July 09, 2017, 11:38:05 am »
I was not in the GZ yesterday, but I thought his miraculously-timed jump was the key to the game. That would have been a two-run double to make it 3-0 with no outs. We had Stroman on the ropes. Sure, his homer was big too, but a big inning for us could have made it a much different game.

I read the Jays will be sellers. Wonder if Luhnow has had conversation in Toronto?

I agree completely. I really thought that was the turning point in the game.
I remember all the good times me 'n Miller enjoyed

But the future has to change - and to change I've got to destroy
Oh look out Lennon here I come - land ahoy-hoy-hoy

Agreed.  Donaldson gave him new life, and Stroman rebounded from that point and pitched a really good game.

And then Donaldson had the opposite effect today with his throw to 1st.

Exactly. He had the key defensive play in both games.

ETA: when his dive caught the bullet Springer hit I said out loud: "Oh, no. Not again." I could not believe the wild throw.

He has a second error later in the game plus makes the mistake of under estimating Marwin's arm. - definitely not the Donaldson of past years.
