Memory is flawed, but it seems the Astros have been catching a lot of key players fresh off the DL. Freeman at 3B should be interesting to watch. He hasn't played there since HS, IIRC and worked on it during his rehab.

Reddick and Altuve switched in order. Interesting.
Often wrong, but never in doubt.

I'm guessing it has to do with no DH and a lefty on the mound?

T1:

Springer...0-2...doubles down LF line
Altuve...0-2..flailing at pitches at his eyes three feet off the plate...1-2...strikes out flailing at a pitch at his eyes three feet off the plate
Reddck...0-2...reaches on an E4...Springer to 3B...now rules a base hit, why no one knows
Correa soft grounder to 2B, Reddick runs right into the tag and it's an easy 4-3 double play, costing the Astros a run.

No score

At some point people are going to learn that they're not going  to beat Yuli on the inside part of the plate. He's like the right-handed equivalent of a left-hander on down-and-in stuff.

Correa's attempt wasn't a great calculated risk.

Nice try by Correa. Almost caught them napping.

T4:

Springer lines a single to LF
Altuve flies out F9
Reddick singles to RF, Springer to 2B
Correa...3-0...walks, Springer to 3B, Reddick to 2B

And that'll be it for Newcomb, Jackson in

Marwin...turned around batting lefty...3=1...infield single up the middle...Philips knocks it down, but no play anywhere, Springer scores, Reddick to 3B, Correa to 2B
McCann grounds out 3-1, on a hard hit ball, Reddick scores, Marwin to 2B...Correa tries to score rom 2B for whatever reason and is easily thrown out 1-2 to end the inning with the hottest hitter coming up.

7-0 Astros

Cause you didn't really think Gurriel could get much done with runners at 2B and 3B?

OK.  I thought it was more stupid than aggressive, especially with your hottest hitter due up.

And now Correa hurt...and out of the game....

T5:

Gurriel singles up the middle...but nobody is one  base...cause he's leading off the inning...after Correa was thrown out at the plate with runners at 2B and 3B to end the last inning...on a ground out in the infield...and injured himself in the process
Bregman...0-2...1-2...2-2...doubles down the LF line...Gurriel scores
Peacock...3-0...walks on four pitches...first time in his career being on base
Springer...then swings at the first pitch in the dirt...now 0-2...1-2...2-2...full count...walks, Bregman to 3B, Peacock to 2B
Altuve doubles off the CF wall, Bregman scores, Peacock scores, Springer thrown out 8-4-2 about a foot behind Peacock.
Reddick flies out F8, Altuve to 3B
Aoki flies out F8

10-0 Astros

I don't like the asymmetrical layout of the pepperoni slices on that pizza burger. The haphazard look of pepperoni slices thrown about the pizza/bun surface is a total turn off. Poor eye appeal, reeks of shoddy craftsmanship.

If it's the same play I'm thinking of, Pence was about a half a step behind Mark Loretta on the bases and had to take a huge turn around 3B to keep from plowing into him on the way home.

TV guys talk too much. I wish they still valued the "let the picture tell the story" method.

This is a bit of a non sequitor, but Kalas has no respect for jinx ethics and it irks me.

Bases loaded nobody out...
The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

No kidding.  He mentioned the "no hitter" when McCuller's was throwing one, constantly talks about guys who don't hit home runs, playoffs, etc.

Tolliver's motion seems pretty jerky.
I remember all the good times me 'n Miller enjoyed
Up and down the M1 in some luminous yo-yo toy
But the future has to change - and to change I've got to destroy
Oh look out Lennon here I come - land ahoy-hoy-hoy

B7:

Markakis...full count...doubles off the RCF wall
Adams with a swinging bunt single, Markakis to 3B
Flowers with a grounds rule double to LCF, Markakis scores, Adams to 3B
Swanson...full count...walks
Santana, pinch hitting for the pitcher, singles to RF on the first pitch...Adams scores, Flowers scores, Swanson to 3B

That's it for Peacock...Tolliver in

First pitch to Inciarte goes through McCann's legs, hits the umpire...Santana, chasing 9 runs, tries to take 2B and is thrown out...score it 2-6

Inciarte flies out F9 in shallow RCF...Swanson holds...Kalas incredulous that trailing by 9 runs, the Braves don't try to force the issue
Philips walks
Freeman lines out to 1B

12-3 Astros

I wouldn't mind it if all the Astros fans in attendance started a "let's go Astros" chant.
Everyone's talking, few of them know
The rest are pretending, they put on a show
And if there's a message I guess this is it

T8:

Aoki nubs one back to the pitcher...1-3
Marwin...full count...strikes out looking
McCann...only starting position player without a hit...pops to shallow LF

Hoyt on to close it out. It's nice knowing he could give up 2 grand slams and still have a 4 run lead.

Gurriel is so damn good right now- he's everything Carlos Beltrain is not.

You mean 40 years old?
Often wrong, but never in doubt.
