Maddon's comments echoed the catcher's comments about the pitcher being slow to the plate. He was not DFAed for being wrong or unfair.

He's probably being DFAed for being 0-31 throwing out baserunners this season...

Arrieta is as bad as they get at holding runners, and has always been that way. No Teri is certainly not wrong in his assessment. But he should know better than to air his feelings publically. He's not a rookie.

The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.
