Lineups?  We don't need no stinking lineups.

The rules of distinction were thrown out with the baseball cap.  It does not lend itself to protocol.  It is found today on youth in homes, classrooms, even in fine restaurants.  Regardless of its other consequences, this is a breach against civility.  A civilized man should avoid this mania.

You sure as shit don't ever throw him an 89 mph fastball belt high right down the middle of the plate.

And right after he had hammered a similar pitch foul.

The Astros had better go out and get some starting pitching, or they're in a world of hurt.  Starting Paulino every fifth day is going to be a disaster.

Young strikes out swinging
Espinosa bunts the first pitch, Gurriel fields it in plenty of times, turns to throw, and nobody else bothered to cover 1B, so he stood there holding the ball

Maybin naturally takes 2B
Calhoun singles to CF, Espinosa scores, Maybin scores
Pujols flies out F9

Paulino is completely oblivious to baserunners.  They can take any bag at will against him.

Great play at plate. I wish they would try that more often, I get the percentages with a force but I also hate conceding runs carte blanche.

Simmons doubles to LF
Maldonado grounds out 5-3, Simmons was running on the pitch, so he move to 3B
Young...infield in...grounds into FC, Simmons out 4-2 at the plate
Young steals 2B on a pitch out...Gattis had no chance
Espinosa strikes out swinging

Still 3-2

They often play the infield in.  That time it worked because the ball was hit sharply right at Altuve.  It still was very close.

There is a lot of bitching about pitches that haven't been strikes all game by the Angels this inning.

Their catcher just blatantly showed up the home plate ump after a pitch off the outside corner was correctly called a ball.

And after being spotted a 3-run lead, Paulino promptly gives up a hit and a walk to bring Pujols to the plate as the tying run, and pitches himself right out of this game

12 runs in less than 5 innings.

Feliz is a much bigger problem today than Paulino.

Paulino's five earned runs in four innings hasn't helped.

No, but those last two came in when Feliz started throwing pus.

What a shitshow of an inning. I know the pen is taxed, but leaving Feliz out there to get murdered is brutal.

T5:

Maybin singles up the middle...which is essentially a double for him
Calhoun walks

And Paulino is gone, Feliz in

Pujols...2-0...takes strike one, takes strike two, takes strike three
Valbuena...0-2...singles to RF, Maybin scores, Calhoun to 3B...a fucking 0-2 meatball right down the pipe
Cron doubles to LF, Calhoun scores, Valbuena to 2B...another 2-strike pitch hard
Simmons with a sac fly to CF, Valbuena scores
Maldonado...3-2...walks
Young...on a fucking 2-strike pitch HAMMERS a FUCKING FAT PITCH to RF to clear the bases...Cron scores, Maldonado scores
Espinosa strikes out swinging

But Feliz is fucking garbage, and the Angels lead 9-6

Can't help but think it's the right thing to do, though.

Doesn't have a lot of choice.  The starting rotation is crap, the decent bullpen relievers are worn the fuck out, and the back end of the pen is shit.

With four starters on the dl this shit is going to happen. But I guess a real team would have 9 quality options. Hopefully the offense can vaunt a bit more today.

It is, but it doesn't do you any good if you follow that up with a fucking fat pitch right down the center of the plate.

B5:

Astros back to chasing runs thanks to a shit performance from the pitching staff

Middleton in for the Angels

Gattis flies out to RF on the first pitch.  I think Gattis has now seen three pitches and made three outs
Marwin walks
Gurriel flies out F9
Bregman flies out F7

9-6 Angels

They have a HOF that's closer to the US one.  The Golden Players Club members are more like game ambassadors.  Still, it's an honor to meet the requirements for membership.

I realize I might not have been clear in my previous statement. What I'm saying about Trout (in case anyone was wondering), is in jest, with tongue in cheek. However, in Trout's absence, Maybin has really stepped his game up. That being said, I wish nothing but good health towards Trout and expect Maybin to revert to his norm in due time.

We've officially run out of pitchers.
And if all the hurt pitchers stay hurt, trying to fix this at the trading deadline will cost us all the prospects, including the ones that haven't been born yet.

I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing AstroTurf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, torture of Bud Selig.
