Obviously they were willing to part with Fisher at one point, having been part of the original Giles deal. But that was a year and a half ago, and Fisher seems to have A) improved a lot, and B) he's now clearly much closer to MLB-ready. The Astros have a serious shortage of LH bats and could easily find room for Fisher next season (when Beltran and Aoki will likely both be gone), if not this season. So I'm skeptical of Luhnow hurting the near-term outlook for the team by dealing him now. I'm guessing he'd much rather trade guys who are further away, like Whitley, Franklin Perez, etc.
